This means there will be no state assessments or teacher evaluations, and that 3rd graders will not be held back under the Read by Grade Three Law's retention requirement. Schools will also shift to remote learning, and each district is to come up with its own plan to educate students at home that will be approved by ISDs. WebJunction Course Catalog
by Cathleen A Russ 03 Apr '20

03 Apr '20

Hello! I know we have a lot of webinar opportunities right now. My head of Circulation sent the following information to me and asked me to share it with all of you if you are interested: My very good friend worked for IMLS for several years before joining Legal Services Corporation. He and his team developed this course for OCLC. When we reopen there will be a lot of patrons who are looking for help accessing legal services. I think this could be great for our librarians. This course will cover · Understanding the role of public libraries in addressing the justice gap · Recognizing the difference between legal information and legal advice · Conducting the legal reference interview; addressing patron stress and anxiety · Reviewing and strengthening your library’s civil legal reference collection · Exploring trusted local- and state-specific online self-help resources · Identifying and cultivating relationships with local organizations that offer legal aid, legal referrals https://learn.webjunction.org/course/search.php?search=lsc471&_ga=2.1389008…

Hi, y'all! Can anyone recommend a puppet stage that you can easily disassemble. Not too large, so you could possibly carry it for school visits? Thanks! C.

by Pam Seabolt 02 Apr '20

02 Apr '20

We invite you to join MCLS remote working staff Pam Seabolt and Lissa Krull for another dialogue and discussion around the virtual environment we find ourselves working in right now and what opportunities might exist for libraries as we move forward. Part support group, part tools and tips, let’s share our experiences and get through this together! Join us this week on Friday, April 3 at 11:00 EDT (10:00 am CDT) on Zoom https://zoom.us/j/172695113. We also increased our participant limits, so if you were trying to get in last week and were unable to, you shouldn’t have any trouble this week. If you weren’t able to attend last week’s dialogue, or just want to revisit some of the information, you can view the recording and chat log by visiting https://www.mcls.org/training-events/presentation-slides/. We hope to see you tomorrow! ************************ Pamela Seabolt Library Strategist Engagement, Consulting, and Training Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS) (800) 530-9019 ext 123 seaboltp(a)mcls.org<mailto:seaboltp@mcls.org> [signature_1738431916]<https://www.facebook.com/mcls.org> [signature_239666823] <https://twitter.com/mclsorg> [signature_598604137] <http://www.mcls.org/>

ideas for online students
by Grai, Rebecca 02 Apr '20

02 Apr '20

I'm looking for some fun ideas for our online students to participate in. Not sure what that is. Could be a a game, scavenger hunt, or something totally different. It's been a couple of weeks and I think they might like something entertaining to do. Ideally these ideas will alleviate some stress. We're a small business university. Thanks in advance, Becky Grai Strosacker Library Northwood University Midland MI
