[image: image.png] MCLS is a non-profit, member-driven organization whose mission is to facilitate sharing resources and to collaborate with other organizations to benefit Michigan and Indiana libraries. MCLS has an immediate opening for MICHIGAN STATEWIDE DIGITAL PRESERVATION NETWORK COORDINATOR. Working with libraries, museums, archives, historical societies, and other cultural heritage organizations throughout the state, the Network Coordinator is responsible for developing and promoting a financially sustainable digital preservation network in Michigan. This position is made possible by the Institute of Library and Museum Services. It is funded by the Library of Michigan, based at the Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS) in Lansing, and reports to the MCLS Executive Director. The position will involve some travel within the state of Michigan, and to conferences and other events outside Michigan. Here are some of the cool things happening at Capital Area District Libraries: CENSUS Outreach Librarian Jill Abood is planning Census Informational Sessions for February and March. While Census Parties where people can come and fill out their forms online while enjoying refreshments will take place in the spring. GRAMMYS We are linking CADL and our hoopla and Library of Things (music instruments) services to this iconic brand and music's biggest night. We secured permission to tag the nationally produced commercials that are running in our market. Graphics were created for our social media sites and website (see attached). An online contest will be held that asks our members to predict the winners of the Record of the Year and Best New Artist categories. Two members who correctly select the winners will receive a prize package valued at $100 each. Some of the prizes will be donated by local businesses. Commercials that feature personalities from two of the market's top radio stations promoting the aforementioned services will run during the Grammy broadcast. A similar campaign will be done for the Oscars. These promos are running on TV, branch digital screens and online. The hosts of our Reader's Roundtable Podcast will conduct a mainstage presentation which will be shared as a special episode. CADL is also sponsoring speed painting presentations. LDL is a small and rural Class 6 library system located in Michigan’s Thumb, serving 60,006 residents in twelve townships and one city. The library’s eight buildings are located in the City of Lapeer and in outlying villages. https://library.lapeer.org/about-us/locations-hours The library operates with a $2.1M budget from a voted millage, penal fines, and state aid, and has a staff of 46 that includes 13 full-time positions (5 MLS librarians).
