Hello, I'm co-chair of the One Book, One Community program in Monroe, MI. We are focusing on this year's Great Michigan Read choice, The Women of the Cooper Country by Mary Doria Russell. Since some of our programs are online this year, I thought I'd share our calendar with everyone in case you or your patrons are interested in attending. I have attached our full program of events in case anyone is nearby, and flyers for three of our online events. Adverse legislation is increasing in several states that would limit curriculum in classrooms and access in libraries - some would even remove longstanding legal protections that shield libraries and library workers from criminal prosecution for providing access to books and online resources to minors. We at United for Libraries are working to support all libraries in their efforts to fight censorship and support intellectual freedom. The United for Libraries Intellectual Freedom Task Force has organized a two-part webinar, "Keeping Governance on Track<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Famericanli…>," that will be presented by the United for Libraries Intellectual Freedom Task Force on March 29 and 31. Sponsorship contract

Good afternoon, Does anyone use a "sponsor contract" for organizations/companies that want to sponsor a specific program or series of programs in the library? I just had the promotions employee for a local charter school offer to sponsor some of our take and make projects (to promote her school, of course) and she wants me to send her a sponsor contract or agreement. We have a current donations policy, which I sent to her, but no sponsor contract as we have never needed one. If you use a sponsor contract, will you please send me a copy? Find the event description below: Seventy-five years ago a 24-year-old, African American secretary Sarah Ray was denied a seat on the segregated Boblo boat, SS Columbia. Like Rosa Parks, she refused to back down, taking her fight for integration all the way to the United States Supreme Court. Represented by fabled NAACP lawyer Thurgood Marshall, Ray won her case. Scholars argue that she paved the way for the seminal 1954 Brown v. Board of Education, which found that separate was inherently unequal. Pulitzer Prize-nominated journalist and community activist Desiree Cooper and ‘Hometown Talent’ award winner filmmaker Aaron Schillinger as they present The Sarah E. Ray Project.
