Custodial Training and Information Requirements
by Cierra Bakovka 13 Feb '24

13 Feb '24

Hi all, Our library is seriously looking into hiring a custodian as part of our staff instead of contracting out cleaning services. While we are hoping to hiring someone with experience, one of my board members mentioned having to provide MSDS sheets and specialized training modules. I've poked around on the osha website, but some of it makes my head spin. Can someone explain it to me like I'm 5? What do I need to provide, how to provide it, etc. Assistance is much appreciated. Thank you! Cierra Bakovka, MLIS She/Her Director Henika District Library 149 South Main St. Wayland, MI 49348 269-792-2891 ext. 309 mailto:cierra@henikalibrary.org

The Midwest Collaborative for Library Services is looking for your input as we craft our strategic plan. As we look to shape the future, we invite you to join us for our Listening Tour in late February and early March. In particular, we will be exploring: * Engagement and collaboration - building community and strengthening relationships with our member libraries as well as others with whom we work and collaborate. * Investing in innovation - doing something no one else is doing, and/or scaling ideas from one or few libraries to many, with an "innovation mindset". * Championing and supporting our libraries - collaborating for the benefit of our libraries and their communities. We hope that you can join us! You can read more and register for a session at https://www.mcls.org/engagement/listening-tour-2024.
