Single discs

Hello! Does anyone have a source to purchase single DVDs in a series (like The Waltons, Grey's Anatomy, etc.) We have multi-disc sets that have one disc that's wrecked, and we have to replace the whole series. Trying to identify a book

Hello. I was approached by a patron today who was looking for the first book in a fantasy series she read about ten years ago. It was a series written for adults. It was set in a medieval-like Europe. There is an Irish witch traveling with her granddaughter and a former soldier. They stop at a nobleman's lands where there are mysterious killings. Eventually they discover (spoiler) that the murderer is a werewolf. Can anyone help us out? It isn't ringing a bell and I've exhausted the usual resources. Thanks so much! The Houghton County Historical Society has suffered massive damages due to the recent flooding crisis in the Western Upper Peninsula <https://www.gofundme.com/gjj99r-houghton-museum-flood-relief> Donate to recover Houghton's history Earlier this week, heavy rains and storms produced severe weather conditions across the Upper Peninsula and Northern Wisconsin, devastating the area's landscape and infrastructure. The Houghton area was severely hit. Major road cave-ins, sinkholes, and hazardous building damage and collapsing areas have led Governor Snyder to declare a state of emergency for the area. The damage to the HCHS research facility grounds from Quarry Road. The Historical Society of Michigan is raising funds for the Houghton County Historical Society (HCHS) in Lake Linden and other local history organizations in the area that may have been affected to provide relief for the devastated portions of their historical collections and property. The HCHS is a volunteer-run organization and is in desperate need of help and donations to save their collections and research facilities. The damage to the HCHS's newspaper collections room. Services for adults with intellectual disabilities

Hello, Does your library offer services to adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities? I'm particularly interested in people who have aged out of the school system, so those 26 and older. If you do anything (programs, volunteer or employment opportunities, special collections) with these patrons in mind I'd love to hear from you! It doesn't matter if you work with individuals who are living independently in your community or with groups who attend day programs or who live together in supportive housing. MeL Minute: Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos

Greetings Michigan Library Community! Did you know World Book Online offers an excellent digital resource for those learning Spanish or non-native speakers? MeL provides access to Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos, the optimal beginner's Spanish language reference tool. Ideal for elementary-aged Spanish speakers or students learning Spanish, EEH offers World Book's meticulously curated content, rich multimedia, engaging features and so much more! Easily toggle between articles directly from World Book Kids or start from easy to navigate homepage. Access popular features such as Mundo De Animales (World of Animals) to explore a wealth of animal facts, images, and videos for more than 100 different animals. The compare tool gives users quantitative information such as lifespan, size, weight, and where the animal is found in the world via a side by side comparison, which is great for visual learners! Another popular feature, the visual dictionary gives users the opportunity to browse images by category. Drill down to the content pages and view labels illustrating and defining the key features of the image in both Spanish and English. Howdy! *The U-M School of Information needs your help and is here to help in exchange! *Check out the message below for details about how to apply for teams of our students to help with projects from website evaluation to data visualization, community profile development to library internships. While some of the projects require face-to-face engagement and are geographically limited to the Ann Arbor area, many can be conducted *virtually!* I’ve got two projects among the list below (but we welcome library proposals from all areas). *1. **For a new Fall 2018 course on Engaging with Communities, our students need to research and create community profiles. This project is conducted virtually.* Let us research your community’s Census, demographic, consumer, and economic data, conduct some interviews, and deliver the results to you! I’m looking for cities, libraries, or non-profits in communities under 25,000 people (visit https://factfinder.census.gov/faces/nav/jsf/pages/index.xhtml and type in your community if you’re not sure). *2. **For a new Winter 2019 capstone-style course, we are looking for libraries and archives in the Ann Arbor area willing to take on a team of two students to work about 100 hours throughout the semester (Jan – April) on projects related to community engagement, collection development, or instruction/programs/events/information literacy. This project requires proximity to Ann Arbor. *While much of the time should be spent working on a significant project deliverable, we know that nobody spends all their time on special projects, so they can also pitch in on additional work as needed.
