As it often happens, the discussion grew into the larger issue of how libraries can share a wide variety of vendor information with each other without redundancy. The concept on which we settled was to offer a moderated website where directors can provide contact information for companies with whom they’ve had a positive experience. Thus “No Reservation Recommendations” (NRR) was born! Shauna Quick, Circulation Manager at Brandon Township Public Library, was brought into the project to design the website and ensure its functionality. The meetings begin Oct. 21 and will be held at locations around the state. The goals of the regional forums are increasing awareness about new work requirements for the Healthy Michigan Plan and preparing beneficiaries to meet the new requirements. MDHHS is implementing the new work requirements to comply with legislation approved in 2018. Beginning on Jan. 1, 2020, Healthy Michigan Plan beneficiaries will be required to report 80 hours of work or other activities, such as job searches, to MDHHS each month. Healthy Michigan Plan beneficiaries can be excused from the requirements in some circumstances. Healthy Michigan Plan beneficiaries who are not excused from the requirements and fail to report may lose their health care coverage. More than 640,000 Michiganders have coverage under the Healthy Michigan Plan, the state’s expanded Medicaid program that began in 2014. "While Gov. Murder Mystery at the Library: Question

Hello, The Belleville Area District Library is contemplating on conducting a Murder Mystery Program and we were wondering if any other libraries have conducted their own murder mysteries? If so I have a couple questions: * Was the program popular? If so, what was your solution to managing its popularity? * As many murder mysteries involves food, how was food provided? By Library or Pot luck? Leftovers? * Any logistical tips or difficulties encountered? * Was there anything that you wish you would have done differently? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Early next week physical mailings with the directions on how to access your manual and the 2020 Catalog (available online) will also go out to all public libraries. Once you have the code, you can download the manual to your library network drive, save to a thumb drive, and/or print to share with staff. Manuals can be downloaded in sections or as a full manual all at once. Art work is available in "Zip Collections," that make it easier for libraries to download the art in batches.
