Postage costs for Books by Mail programs

We are considering add this service for our senior patrons and would like to have an idea of postage costs. FREE Mental Health workshops this summer from VLA

Sharing on behalf of The Virginia Library Association. The VLA Professional Associates Forum is coordinating a series of FREE Mental Health workshops this summer. Their second workshop is just around the corner, July 21st at 2 pm EST! Guided Stress Relief Session with Georgianne Ginder. Georgianne has her Master's Degree in Education and Holistic Medicine. She is a Certified Health and Wellness Counselor at Virginia Commonwealth University. Georgianne will provide information on stress relief tactics as well as lead participants through a virtual, meditative relief session aimed at reducing stress and anxiety. POS System Compilation

Hi everyone, Thank you to those that replied to my post about different POS systems. Here is the info I received: 1. Comprise sells POS systems - it interacts with SAM. 2. We have been using a Square system. Purchased the Square cash register and scanners. It has worked extremely well and allows us to accept payment in many forms. Low transaction fees for card use. 3. We currently have an old cash register. 4. * Which company do you use? * Smart Money Manager by Comprise * Is there an annual fee, a set up fee, or both? * Yes - set up fee and annual maintenance both * Does it integrate easily into your ILS? * Fairly easily, yes, as far as real-time updating integration – but the SMM client is a separate application from the ILS so you need to do transactions in SMM then go back to ILS for checkouts, but after training that has not been a big deal * Is it user-friendly? * It’s fairly user-friendly for the staff to use, yes. Our biggest complaint from staff is that it forces password reset every 90 days and it enforces complex password rules, which I believe is necessary for the software to be PCI compliant. I will say that we’ve had some issues with the database not aligning with reports and have had to get their support involved on a few occasions, that’s been our main issue with it, THAT issue has not been user friendly for our accountant. Small Book Carrying Cases

Hello, Do you have recommendations for sturdy cases to hold small children's book sets (similar to the thin paper Bob books)? Our library received a donated Disney Learning Phonics Box Set that we want to add to our collection, and we would like to purchase more of these sets and shelve them with our beginning readers. The books came in an adorable cardboard carrying case that will not hold up with circulation, so I'm looking for something heavier weight that is not too long or wide so it fits on the shelf with other regular books. The books are just a bit too large to fit in DVD/audiobook/Playaway cases but I'd like something similar.
