Hello! Are you a Michigan library director, board member, or friends group member? Have you ever faced questions involving the law and how it relates to Michigan libraries? Questions like: If the library staff member assigned the responsibility for maintaining the library's website and social media accounts posts images and artwork for library accounts from a source for which the staff member purchased a personal individual license (paid for by the staff member with personal funds), does the library have any liability for any licensing or Intellectual Property violations that may occur as a result? If so, please join me THIS Thursday, September 17 @ 3:00pm for the Library Law Office Hours! You can register at https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZYqdO6uqD8pEt31yRiFFRZkHDc96mWbdi… Once you register, a Zoom link will be e-mailed to you. Want to add a question early? Visually Impaired Patrons - Digital Signage and navigational tools
by Andrea Ingmire 14 Sep '26

14 Sep '26

Happy Monday, Wondering if any of your libraires utilize digital building signage and/or navigational tools for visually impaired patrons that connect to personal handheld digital devices. I've received a request from a patron for this who suggested we look into RightHear https://www.right-hear.com/, soundscape, and wayfindr. Curious what other libraries are doing to increase accessibility, in addition to Braile signage. Thanks!
