give: just the letters/keys from computer keyboards
by Jennifer Perryman 02 May '24

02 May '24

Hello, I know this is a weird one! Do you have any use for just the individual letters/characters/keys from computer keyboards? Someone donated (with other things) 10 ziploc bags containing keys from computer keyboards. A quick Google search showed craft ideas with them, but there's nothing I think I'll use them for. Before I toss them, if you'd like them, let me know! Summer Reading logs for youth and teens - Canva Templates
by Katie Rothley 02 May '24

02 May '24

Happy May everyone, A few weeks ago, I shared a Canva template for a Summer Reading paper passport log for adults. I wanted to share these logs also, for youth and teens. We use Beanstack so that branding is included along with our QR code to our Beanstack website, and we ask youth/teens to track by the number of minutes read, so that is reflected on our logs. You could customize them to however you ask your patrons to track! I hope these are helpful: Summer Reading paper log for children <https://www.canva.com/design/DAGEGpiDIYk/U47g1K1-ssCC0YFkkLJCdg/view?utm_co…> Summer Reading paper log for teens <https://www.canva.com/design/DAGEGtyYjNI/Lknf81tGeVguAyoR5uArBA/view?utm_co…> Feel welcome to share with your consortiums especially if you are not in TLN. -- Katie Rothley, MLIS Marketing & Public Relations Librarian Northville District Library 212 West Cady Street Northville, MI 48167 (248) 349-3020 <callto:(248)+349-3020> ext. 221 https://northvillelibrary.org

Looking for a book
by Jane French 02 May '24

02 May '24

Hello Library World! I would like to ask for your help for one of our patrons. She is looking to find the name of a book about a baby owl named Oliver. When he was learning to fly, he got lost in the woods. A line from the book that she remembers is "The moon came up and Oliver shivered". She thinks it is circa 1943 or 1944. I haven't been able to find anything about a book that old with the character she is looking for. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
