free steel cantilevered shelving pieces

Hi all, We have some pieces of Montel steel cantilevered shelving that we are unable to use. We have: Standard 15"x36" shelf: 40 Hinged 12"x36" magazine shelf: 42 15"x10" side panels for magazine shelf: 75 We also have a large number of the metal clip-in book ends. Images are attached so you have an idea of color/size. If you are interested in any or all of these pieces or have any questions, please let me know. request for program speakers

Hello everyone! My library was selected to be a partner with the Yiddish Book Center's Stories of Exile Reading Groups for Public Libraries program. In addition to discussing the books in this program, we are looking to host a series of guest speakers who have immigrant stories similar to many people in our community. Particularly we are interested in connecting with individuals with ties to Bangladesh, Iraq, and Ukraine, although we would be interested in other speakers as well. Topics of the conversations may include refugee or immigrant experiences, the Ukrainian refugee crisis, the legacy of slavery/African diaspora, or even someone who can speak about homelessness and the way that it displaces individuals. We hope that the “Stories of Exile” program can help us to foster conversations about appreciating diverse cultures that may be different from our own, while recognizing that we are all part of one human family, and that we our connected by many commonalities of experience. I was curious as to whether anyone has hosted a speaker on the topics similar to those that I mentioned above, and if you would be willing to share their contact information with me. We are fortunate to be hosting an individual from the Zekelman Holocaust Center at our meeting next week. Thank you so much for your suggestions! meeting room software request results

Thank you everyone who provided review/recommendation on meeting room software. I've compiled your comments: "We have used LocalHop for a few years now and are very happy with them. We use their room reservation software, web calendar software and program sign up. We pay about $2,600 a year. I know it's not low cost but would be cheaper for a smaller library. We have payments linked to our Friends bank account as the only programs are Friends programs so funds go directly to them and there has never been any issues with that - it works smoothly." "The setup was pretty straight forward but was time consuming as we started from scratch and were not able to port anything over. The software we used prior to this was over 10 years old so newer software may go smoother. Overall, I would highly recommend them as they are local, responsive to any issues and you can talk to a person who knows what they are talking about and the software works." "We are eventually going to get Vega Program. Installation is happening in our co-op now, we are on the list. I just did webinar with Innovative today talking about the new Program software. From what I saw on the webinar, it looks promising for ease of use for staff and patrons. I've used Local Hop in the past, I think it had too many clicks to be a good option. I've also used Evanced calendars and it was pretty good. " "We use Google Calendar and put the room reservations down as events. We color code the events according to which room is being reserved. It works very well for setting up multiple events over time (repeating weekly, monthly or every third Wednesday), it is accessible from anywhere, it's easy to add the necessary details to the reservation, and it's free. However, it will not prevent you from double booking a room. " "We use ResSched for our room scheduling. It is relatively cheap for us and will prevent double booking of rooms. https://madrigalsofttools.com/" "We use Plymouth Rocket. It's a little wonky, but works for us-- only booking 1 room. This position is part of our Circulation Services Team at 28 hours per week. Primary job functions include assisting patrons by checking out library materials, registering new library cards, assisting with questions about library services, and handling telephone inquiries. With fall is approaching quickly and summer reading wrapped up for the year, let's take a look at programming for older adults. Libraries provide programming for all ages and there are special issues with each age group. Older adults may have more flexible time, but may have issues with declining health, mobility and dementia, creating very different needs for them as a patron group.
