Hello library friends, Thanks again for the warm welcome to the Library of Michigan this summer! I'm so delighted by each connection I've been able to make this as folks have reached out to introduce themselves and chat with me about training needs and library experiences. I appreciate the learning I've been able to do. Now we invite you to complete the 2025 Library of Michigan Training Opportunity Assessment<https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/8425235/2025-Training-Opportunity-Assessment> and share your experiences with professional development as a public library worker. We will use this information to assess training opportunities, understand training preferences and needs, and identify knowledge and skill gaps throughout the state. The survey is structured with some required multiple-choice questions and some larger spaces for you to add more narrative and experiences if you wish. Mylar and Adhesive Book Covers Up for Grabs

Going through our book covering materials cupboard and have a bunch of mylar book covers and one-piece adhesive book covers that we want to pass along to someone else who will actually use them! See below for pics. There are a total of 241 mylar book covers. These are pre-cut to size and have adhesive strips for ease of covering. There is a variety of 8" and 9" sizes. There are a total of 90 one-piece adhesive book covers, I think they are the Demco CircExtender ones. They each have the pre-prepped spine section that you apply first. These are all 10.75 x 17.5" (fits up to 10"). I'm happy to send these out via RIDES. Please reply with your RIDES code and which cover(s) you want and how many (don't be shy here). Michigan Renaissance Festival, 2025 and the Michigan Activity Pass

All, One of the most common MAP related questions we get is "Will Michigan Renaissance Festival be a MAP partner destination this year?" We reach out to MRF concerning our interest in having them as a MAP partner every year, usually in April. Most years the answer is yes. But there have been a couple of "no" years, too. And full disclosure we never know for sure what MRF's plans are for MAP until August. Each participating library should be represented by a team of at least two staff members. Libraries are encouraged to send staff from across departments and can include Youth Services and/or Adult Services staff, programming coordinators, summer library program coordinators, outreach staff, marketing, and administrators. Participation in the BCBS initiative will require, of all team members: * Active attendance and participation using cameras, shared whiteboards, and breakout sessions. * Participation in an introductory orientation before the learning sessions begin. * Additional work will be required within your library and community to begin to consider and assess your existing and planned summer programs and services through an equity lens. Youth Services Librarian Youth Services - Northville, Michigan ------------------------------ The Northville District Library seeks an enthusiastic and innovative individual for a part-time position to serve as one of its Youth Librarians. Position: 20 Hours per week, including some weekends and evenings. This is a Union Position Benefits: Paid time off includes sick, vacation, holiday, and personal business time.
