FREE CD Shelf System
by Anna Merritt 26 Aug '26

26 Aug '26

We have a custom made CD shelf system that we no longer need. The shelves are designed to fit CD cases so they are front-facing and easy to flip through. Drawers pull out to browse. It is a bit of a beast in size, but it isn't as heavy as it looks and it is on wheels. It is free to a good home, but you must be able to pick it up within the next one-two weeks. New Laptop Advice/Recommendations
by Sydney Raines 26 Aug '26

26 Aug '26

Good morning! I'm requesting recommendations for a new laptop based on everyone's experiences. This laptop will be used for outreach events and services only. I'm looking for a laptop with excellent battery life, great durability (if possible), and ports for connecting scanners and such. What laptops/tablets does everyone else use? What are the pros and cons you've noticed? Any and all recommendations are greatly appreciated! Thank you, everyone! -- Sydney Raines Outreach Specialist Romeo District Library 586-752-0603 x 1007 sydney(a)romeodistrictlibrary.org

AED
by Peterson, Sydny 25 Aug '26

25 Aug '26

Hi everyone! We are connected to our school which has AEDs installed in multiple different areas. However, I would really like one right in the library especially due to serving our older population so frequently. If you have an AED in your library, were there any grants you applied for in order to cover the cost? Or how'd you go about purchasing? Thank you in advance! Thanks! -- *Sydny Peterson * Library Director Manistique School & Public Library (906)-252-4316 CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This e-mail message, including any attachment, is for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential and/or privileged information as defined by State and Federal laws. Special Collection Policies
by Cierra Bakovka 25 Aug '26

25 Aug '26

Hey all! We've had a special collection for about 5ish years now. It's getting time to review policies again and I was wondering if there were any changes you made to yours that you like or something that isn't working that you were looking to change in the future? Honestly, just looking over what everyone else is doing regarding limits, rules, restrictions at the moment would be helpful. Thanks! Great Program
by Elizabeth Campion 24 Aug '26

24 Aug '26

Recently, Shelby Township Library hosted Unpacking Odysseus with John Monaghan and Harry Campion. We had 42 enthusiastic patrons, a lot of humor and information, and an impromptu musical performance. It was great. The description is here: Join Harry Campion and John Monaghan as they explore the mythology, history, and literature behind *The Odyssey* and the making of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film adaptation. For nearly 20 years, Campion and Monaghan taught Homer’s epic poem in the Advanced Placement English Literature program at Grosse Pointe South High School. This program will mirror their classroom approach, combining Campion’s expertise in Greek mythology and art with Monaghan’s background as a film historian and former *Detroit Free Press* film critic. Monaghan will also examine Nolan’s filmmaking career—including *The Dark Knight*, *Dunkirk*, and *Oppenheimer*—and discuss how *The Odyssey* fits within the director’s body of work. If you're interest in hosting them at your library they can be reached at HarryCampion(a)Gmail.com or JohnMonaghan1963(a)gmail.com Elizabeth Campion, Librarian Shelby Township Library
