Mental Health in the Workplace Technostress [LEO Banner] Mental Health in the Workplace: New 3-Part Webinar Series Format The new year brings exciting changes and new initiatives to the Workplace Mental Health Campaign including a re-vamped webinar series. In response to the positive feedback we've received, we're introducing a new format for our webinars that will allow us to dive deeper into key topics and provide a richer, more detailed learning experience. [sean egan]Webinars will now be done in a three-part series and each of the half-hour long sessions will be hosted by the same guest speaker. Sean Egan, LEO's Deputy Director of Labor who leads the state's workplace mental health initiative, will moderate each of the webinars. Each webinar will focus on the same topic, but will expand each time to address following questions: * What is the topic? * Why is the topic important? How does this topic affect me, my business, or my employees? * What do we do about it? What actions can be taken to help combat the issue in the workplace? The First Webinar Series of 2025: Technostress This three-part series is designed to guide managers in effectively addressing and reducing technostress-a growing concern in today's technology-driven work environments. [ashley nixon]Thursday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. will kick off the first Mental Health in the Workplace webinar series of 2025! The three webinars will focus on technostress and will feature guest speaker Dr. Ashley Nixon of Willamette University. Dr. Nixon will explain what technostress is and provide and introduction into how technology and stress intersect in the workplace and what can be done about it. ________________________________ Episode 1: Understanding Technostress and Its Impact The first part of the series introduces the concept of technostress and explores how constant technological changes, information overload, and the pressure to stay connected can negatively affect employees' productivity, well-being, and job satisfaction. Envisionware Machines - Free
by Andrus, Miriam 09 Jan '25

Hello Library Land, The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library has 2 standing Envisionware self-checkout units and 3 desk top self-checkout units to give to a library for free. The interested library just needs to pick up the units. These items were new to our Library in 2019 and are in working "like-new" condition since we were closed to patrons due to our flood for 2 years of that time. Please email me if you are interested and want more information. Thank you, -Miriam [cid:image001.png@01DB628C.BF1FAFF0] Miriam Andrus, MLS Director, Grace A. Dow Memorial Library 1710 W. YES Committee Question
by Jack Buck 09 Jan '25

09 Jan '25

Hello, >From my understanding, for a millage campaign, a library director and library staff volunteer on a "YES" Committee on their own time (unpaid). However, it's best practice for library staff/director not to hold any the chair positions on the YES Committee. How about the library issuing a call of action to the community to join the YES Committee? Ex. posting on bulletin board: Interested in helping with the next phase of our Library? Join us for an Information Meeting at XYZ Coffee Shop, 7pm on 2/1/25. My gut is telling me the above would be okay, but posting on the library's social media would be a no. This whole line of thinking is how to reach members of the community to join YES Committee that are interested but not being asked directly. Thanks for your time. Jack Buck, MLIS Director Richland Community Library 269-629-9085 -- This message has been scanned by E.F.A. Project and is believed to be clean.
