by White, Shannon (MDE) 31 Mar '14

31 Mar '14

Today marks the final day of open enrollment in the health insurance marketplaces established as part of the Affordable Care Act. Public libraries and their community partners supporting outreach, application, and enrollment efforts for patrons will have opportunities to share best practices and lessons learned with one another over the coming months. The resources below are intended to support that process. * The full, free archive is now available for Health Happens in Libraries: Prioritizing Patron and Partner Engagement<http://wc4.net/t?r=850&c=3782914&l=337856&ctl=4B2E34A:37D71AC352E2C078185B1…>. This session includes information on strategies and resources for patron and partner engagement from the initial open enrollment period, as well as information on ways that your organization can prioritize future planning for marketplace enrollment activities. * Many consumers newly enrolled in healthcare coverage may benefit from information on how to use it and maintain it most effectively. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) provides guidance for individuals for using insurance and supporting health, via the Roadmap to Better Care and a Healthier You<http://wc4.net/t?r=850&c=3782914&l=337856&ctl=4B2E34B:37D71AC352E2C078185B1…>. Do you have any lessons learned from the current enrollment period that we should incorporate in future communications? What questions do you have about planning for future open enrollment periods, or managing patron requests in the interim? Please let us know at the Library of Michigan or let the staff at WebJunction know your thoughts at any time via content(a)webjunction.org<mailto:content@webjunction.org?subject=Health%20Happens%20in%20Libraries>, or on Twitter by tagging #libs4health.
