Good Morning! Jacqui and I wanted to reach out to share exciting news for Kids InfoBits – our resource supporting beginning researchers in Kindergarten through Grade 5. Lexile reading levels have been added to the product! Now when reviewing results, teachers and librarians will be able to identify Lexile levels for magazines and newspaper results as shown below: [cid:3E81BCA1E50E4E4B842828E873462940@corproot.local] In addition, users can also search for content with a particular Lexile reading level range, or lexile score using Advanced Search: [cid:18E4126D6A889E4998705BB1016B3B4A@corproot.local] On top of this new Lexile functionality, I also wanted to share some information about content updates for Kids InfoBits. This past year, we’ve loaded 1,040 new entries, 171 updated entries, and 1,138 images. Included in the image count is the 135 new maps, charts, and graphs that we loaded for Kids InfoBits Presents: Geography and Kids InfoBits Presents: Business and Economics. POSITION TITLE: (2) Part-Time, Librarians REPORTS TO: Library Director MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Master of Library Science from an ALA-accredited university required • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required • Must be familiar with library automated book catalogs and an expert using library online databases • Must have experience in tutoring or teaching • Must have ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals • Must have ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and the general public • Must have ability to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 25 pounds DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide reference service and learning support to students within the scope of the service program plan • Conduct library instruction sessions as scheduled • Collection development • Take primary responsibility for, or assist with, related projects as assigned • Provide computer assistance and troubleshooting for students • Assume “librarian-in-charge” responsibilities as assigned, such as supervisory responsibilities during evenings and weekends • Other duties as assigned. Creating a content plan for each social media tool you decide to use will get you organized, help you work through the exercise of why you are using social media, who is contributing content, what your goals are and how to measure them. In this session, we will review a few types of social media, examine some good and not-so-good applications and learn how to create a content plan.
