Hello All - I received a phone call from Troy Haskell at OCI, Oklahoma Correctional Institute/Industries, 405-527-0832, (he is sending me an email with all the information) and he offered to digitize our HS yearbooks for FREE, and pay postage both ways. I Googled the phone number and organization and called one of the references at the Weatherford Public Library, TX. All good!! Of course - if it's too good to be true Has anyone been approached by this organization? Has anyone heard of this organization? Has anyone used their services? He said that they want the publicity for their inmates and hope by doing yearbooks for libraries and non-profits, that they may get paid work digitizing other materials in the future. Advanced E-rate Deadline to Register is Oct 21

The deadline to register for the upcoming Advanced E-rate Training session is October 21. To register, please visit: http://www.solutionwhere.com/lom/cw/showcourse.asp?40 Registration is $30 per person. This includes refreshments, lunch and class material. The training will be held on Tuesday, October 29 from 8:45-4:30 at the Library of Michigan. The 2013 Advanced E-rate Training will cover any updates provided by the SLD during their Fall Training Workshops. Attendees will also focus on procurement and the Form 471 along with other information needed to submit an application during the application window. Provided that the online Form 470 and 471 Training site is available, attendees will also review how to complete and file the Form 470 and the Form 471 online. This workshop will be a follow up to the Basic E-rate Workshop held in June and will focus on higher-level issues that are encountered during the application and review processes. Beginners are also welcome but should review the SLD web site<http://www.usac.org/sl/> before attending to familiarize themselves with the terminology and the application processes. Linda Schatz will lead the workshop and share information and program insights to help libraries successfully apply for E-rate funds. Hi All-at the request of Gale, we have dropped the "InfoTrac" label from the following Gale resources available via the Michigan eLibrary: Junior Edition Newsstand Student Edition In addition, the "InfoTrac" label has been removed from the following smaller collections in MeL's Health & Wellness Gateway: Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Collection Psychology Collection The above collections will instead be labeled with the word: "Powerpack".
