Greetings to you all! I have a new HP CE250A black toner that works in the following printer models: HP Color LJ CP3525 (CC468A) HP Color LJ CP3525dn (CC470A) HP Color LJ CP3525n (CC469A) HP Color LJ CP3525x (CC471A) HP Color LJ CM3530 mfp (CC519A) It was sent to us by mistake and the box was opened and therefore cannot be returned. Tablets on Display

Hello Everyone, I am currently working on a project to put tablets on display in various areas of the library. Right now the tablets are currently stationed at a reference desk and are barely looked at. How often do you have clean the tablet's memory or restore to factory settings? If you have any other information or tip about tablets being used inside a library I would greatly appreciate it. We will have four iPads on display in our new children's area and 4 tablets (2 iPads, 1 Nook tablet, and a Kindle Fire) on our main floor/adult area. Thank you. ALA Right to Libraries

Good afternoon! ALA President Barbara Stripling is rolling out an exciting community initiative called "The Declaration for the Right to Libraries". The Declaration for the Right to Libraries is the cornerstone document of ALA President Barbara Stripling's presidential initiative, Libraries Change Lives, which is designed to build the public will and sustained support for America's right to libraries of ALL types - academic, special, school and public. In the next year, libraries of all types will hold signing ceremonies, during which community members can visibly declare their right to have vibrant libraries in their community. The signing ceremony is intended to serve as the launching point for continued and vibrant community engagement to: * Increase public and media awareness about the critical role of libraries in communities around the country * Inspire ongoing conversations about the role of the library in the community * Cultivate a network of community allies and advocates for the library * Position the library as a trusted convener to help in the response to community issues Please take a minute to visit http://www.ala.org/advocacy/declaration-right-libraries for ideas on how to hold a signing ceremony, print out your own Declaration for your library, or participate with the virtual Declaration. Due to the retirement of the current director, the Board of Trustees of the Mason County District Library is inviting applications for the position of Director. The Mason County District Library includes facilities in Ludington (expanded and remodeled in 2012) and Scottville (expanded and remodeled in 2002) and serves a population of over 28,000 with a budget of over $900,000 and a staff of five (5) full-time and thirty-one (31) part-time employees. As a district library, the Library is an autonomous governmental unit that has a dedicated millage in perpetuity. Submit your proposal for the Fyan Small and Rural Library Conference

Do you want to share some ideas, successes or challenges with your library peers? If so, consider submitting a proposal for the 2014 Fyan Rural and Small Libraries Conference. We are especially interested in receiving proposals related to community engagement, digital literacy and library technology. Even if you don't have an idea for those topic areas don't worry the conference features six tracks of programming so there's room for a little of everything. The submission proposal form is located here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RLC2014 Proposals are due Monday, October 21, 2013 in order to be considered for inclusion in the 2014 conference. The Library of Michigan will provide all presenters with: - Full conference registration and one night's lodging at the Grand Hotel or other hotel accommodation up to the state rate of $75 per night.
