Wayne State to Offer its Archival Administration Certificate Online Starting January 2017

The Wayne State School of Library and Information Science is pleased to announce that its Graduate Certificate in Archival Administration (GCAA) will be available online (and, therefore, open to all SLIS students) effective Winter 2017. As detailed on the GCAA web page<http://slis.wayne.edu/certificates/archival-administration.php> , the 15-credit certificate is composed of 3 required courses and 2 electives. The Fremont Public Library (Indiana) is seeking a Library Director. The Library Director is responsible for the operation and management of all library services which requires administering library business, budgeting and accounting, formulating policies for board approval, submitting required reports to State agencies, supervising staff, overseeing professional development of staff, purchasing and overseeing collection development and cataloging, purchasing and maintaining technology, overseeing the development and promotion of public programming, maintaining professional relationships with the local school corporation , the local Chamber and other community and state entities, and the care and maintenance of the building and grounds. Fremont Public Library is a Class C library requiring the library director to hold a LC4. We are located in Fremont on US 120 in Steuben County. Our building was constructed in 2003, approximately 18000+ sq. ft. on two levels surrounded by restored prairie and adjacent to the School administration building, ball parks and nature path. We serve three townships (2010 population was 7002). There are currently 3 librarians on staff with 8 support personnel. FPL participates in NICCL, NIDL and IN-SRCS. Currently our ILS is The Library Corporation (TLC). Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Health insurance is offered. The board would prefer the new director to live within the county.
