Hi Everyone, If you offer notary service in your library could you let me know the following: What do you charge for the service? Do you compensate the employee that is the notary for performing notary services? How many notaries do you have on staff? Have you encountered any trouble with offering this service? Any advice if we are considering adding this? Access to a journal

Hi all, I am interested in reading Public Library Quarterly. Unfortunately, it seems to be owned by Taylor & Francis, who charge an exorbitant fee. Does anyone have a work-around for this problem? Patron Record Management

Hello, My library is looking to find a new way of storing our patron records. We are a fairly large library system with about 200,000 patrons active in the ILS. If your library system is of comparable size, could you tell me how you store paper registrations for the purpose of keeping the patron signature on file? Do you use any sort of database software? How do you tag the scanned records? What kind of digital storage do you use - server- or cloud-based? Thank you! Interested in brush up on your health reference skills or providing health programs and outreach in your community? Please consider joining us for the 4-week online class Health and Wellness @ the Library: The Essentials of Providing Consumer Health Services. This free online course defines the core competencies of providing health information services to your patrons and then dives directly into the essential skills and knowledge that library staff needs to build those competencies. Attendees will participate in a robust class that includes four weeks of interactive instruction, discussion, and activities followed by an additional week to complete a final project. This course was developed to help all library staff provide excellent services and health information to consumers, patients, students, and other members of the community. Due to the comprehensive nature of this class, participants can expect to spend between 3 and 4 hours per week to fulfill the requirements of this course. Upon completion, participants will be awarded 12 MLA CE units. In addition, this is an approved CHIS class; participants who complete the class are eligible to apply for Level I or Level II of the Consumer Health Information Specialization from MLA<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.mlanet.org_p_cm_ld_…>. The GMR is currently sponsoring the CHIS certification application for public librarians and public library staff in our region. Computer Notices to Patrons

Hello libraries of Michigan! I was wondering if any other libraries placed printed notices on their public computer terminals in addition to an agreement page when users log in to public computers? Something concerning copyright laws, file-sharing, etc. If so, would anyone be willing to share their examples with me? I appreciate your time and assistance.
