reuseable bag source

Hi! We're looking for an alternative to the used flimsy plastic grocery bags we give to our patrons now to bring home materials. Just looks kind of tacky and they don't hold much. We're looking at both plastic bags (larger and stronger) or, better yet, the recycled polypropylene reusable bags (sort of look like mesh close up). Does anyone have a type of bag and source that they could recommend? And, if you have the recycled mesh kind - do you sell them or give them away? Thanks! Wayne State Seeks Nominations for 2017 Professional Service Award

The Wayne State School of Library and Information Science requests nominations for its 2017 Professional Service Award. THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICE AWARD acknowledges Wayne State alumni and other individuals who have made significant and sustained contributions to the Michigan library community during their careers and have supported the School of Library and Information Science. The Professional Service Award recognizes individuals who, for example, have been leaders in state, regional, and/or national professional associations, and/or have held leadership roles in activities related to their positions. Recipients of SLIS awards are selected by a School committee made up of faculty, staff, and students. The awards are announced at the Annual Recognition Ceremony. This year's ceremony will be held in Detroit on Friday, September 8, 2017. Help with definition and description of typical Library Board Committees

Asking for help . . . once again. My Board’s first organizational meeting is coming up later this month, and I’m looking for samples of committees and description of activities of those committees that we can use as a template as they set up their committees for the first time. Looking for Personnel, Building & Grounds, Finance, and any other usual committees that Library Boards would have. I wanted to remind everyone to take Action *today* (if you have not already) to request our Michigan representatives to sign the Dear Appropriation Letters for LSTA/IAL. The services that the Library of Michigan provides through LSTA funds (*including MeL*) are critical to my students, all students in the state, and all residents in the state. I know that both Randy Riley and Shannon White shared information on the depth of services that are provided to Michigan libraries and residents through LSTA funds. It looks like the only Michigan Representatives who have signed the current letter for LSTA, thus far, are Deborah Dingell and Sander Levin. Please consider taking action today.
