Free or low priced ILS for very small school library

Calling any small school libraries, I have a teacher from a very small parochial school (K-8) in our area asking if I know of any open source or at least moderately priced software to catalog their small library. Bonus if it also can track checkouts to their students, although they only have about 30 students so they probably could use a spreadsheet for that. This is not something I’m at all familiar with, but if anyone out there is working in a small school/small library of any type using a free or very low priced ILS or even has heard of suggestions I can pass on to this teacher, I’d be grateful if you could contact me. He said he thought the name was something like"Short History of the World" with characters in it named " Itchy, Scratchy, and Unga Unga". Millennial Visions & Earthly Pursuits: The Israelite House of David January 10, 2018 with Bob Myers Millennialist preachers Benjamin and Mary Purnell founded the Israelite House of David in Benton Harbor in 1903. Program recommendation - Annie Spence

Author and librarian Annie Spence gave a charming presentation of her book Dear Fahrenheit 451: Love and Heartbreak in the Stacks: a Librarian's Love Letters and Breakup Notes to the Books in her Life <http://search.mel.org/iii/encore/record/C__Rb33835543__Sdear%20fahrenheit%2…> at the Grosse Pointe Public Library this month. She read from her book, chatted about her path to being published and signed books afterward. Originally started to entertain herself while weeding, the letters are sometimes funny, sometimes salty but always on the mark. The book is not just for librarians (although we especially loved it!), any book lover will enjoy. Annie is currently a librarian at the St Clair Shores library, as well as a sub in Grosse Pointe. Jan. 1 Deadline for YALSA Summer Learning Grants

Posted on behalf of YALSA Jan. 1 Deadline for YALSA Summer Learning Grants Could your library use funds for 2018 Teen Summer Reading? Dollar General Literacy Foundation and YALSA will be awarding grants totaling $40K to public and school libraries for their summer reading programs. Grants are $1K each. Twenty Summer Learning Resources Grants are targeted toward libraries in need with the purpose of helping them purchase resources or provide services to bolster their teen summer learning programs. Twenty Teen Summer Intern Grants are designed to help teens build job skills while aiding libraries with their summer learning initiatives. Grants will be given to libraries for the purpose of hiring summer teen interns to assist with summer reading activities. Applications are due January 1, 2018.
