Older Law Books
by Laura Orlowski 05 Aug '26

05 Aug '26

We had a lawyer's family donate several boxes of older Michigan Law Books - desperate to save them from a landfill. I have no idea if they can be useful to anyone. Most of these volumes are from the late 1980s and 1990s. Some of the titles: Michigan Statutes Annotated Madden & Owen Products Liability Michigan Pleading and Practice Michigan Civil Jurisprudence Cyclopedia of Trial Practice If someone can let me know if these might be useful or not, I would appreciate it. If you know someone that might be interested, I can send a full list of titles and volumes. Thanks for your help, -Laura Orlowski, Library Director Jonesville District Library 517-849-9701 info(a)jonesvilledistrictlibrary.org

Ferndale Millages Pass!
by Drew Macaulay 05 Aug '26

05 Aug '26

Yesterday our community voted yes on both our operational millage (renewal plus .5 mil) and on creating a capital improvement and maintenance fund (.5 mil). We asked our patrons for what we actually need to sustain services and prevent deferred building maintenance, and we knew it was a big ask. Operational passed with 68% yes votes, and the capital fund passed with 67% yes votes. I'm delighted that today is such a positive day for so many libraries! -- Drew Macaulay, MLIS (she/her) Library Director Ferndale Area District Library 222 E.
