We have a part-time position open! Our library has a reputable art gallery and we need someone to seek out artists, coordinate with them on selecting and hanging their exhibits, doing all marketing, and hosting an artist's reception with each new exhibit. The job's salary is based on an average of 10 hours per week, with some weeks requiring more hours and some less. Our current coordinator has exhibits planned through June of this year. This study aims to investigate how services and programs offered by public library professionals may support the information needs and practices of formerly incarcerated individuals. We are also examining the training needs of public library staff who would like to better serve formerly incarcerated individuals in their communities. I am seeking volunteers who would like to share their experiences assisting patrons in connecting with social services and/or obtaining literacy and digital health literacy skills. Volunteers with experience developing and providing programming and/or services for formerly incarcerated individuals are preferred but not required. Participation involves a one-on-one interview (virtual or in-person) estimated to take 45-90 minutes. Each volunteer who completes an interview will receive a $30 visa gift card. Self-Serve Hold Shelves

Hello hive mind! I'm exploring a future service modification to our holds. Specifically, I'm exploring the steps necessary to implement a self-serve hold shelf. I was hoping to get some idea of what the process was like for other libraries and address some of the questions I've already had. We're not an RFID library so we're not looking for those solutions. * When did you implement self-service holds? * How well did your patrons transition to the new hold system? * What have you modified since implementation to make the process easier for patrons and staff? * Do you place MeL items on your self-service hold shelf? If so, how do you process those titles to get them ready for the shelf? * What procedures do you have in place for patrons that need to receive phone calls for holds?
