Hello All, The League of Women Voters has published their voter guide for 2020 and they are being distributed around the state. Check with your co-op director about distribution, as many are distributing copies via RIDES. Mid-Michigan Library League members can expect to receive their allotment of print guides this coming week via delivery. Board members with accounting access

Hello everyone, My auditor suggested giving Quickbooks online reporting access to our Finance Committee members to allow for them to view reports (even though we send the reports to them). I am just wondering if any other libraries have Board members with access to their accounting software. I have some concerns about this. POSITION OPENING Districtwide Program Coordinator The Van Buren District Library is seeking a dynamic, outgoing, experienced youth librarian or ready to inspire excellence as our new Districtwide Program Coordinator. Duties & Responsibilities: • Coordinating the Library District’s youth programming efforts, includingoversight & execution of classes & events across VBDL’s seven branch locations• Training staff in youth services programming fundamentals & best practices • Developing an extensive set of off-the-shelf youth program resources for all VBDL locations• Coordinating the Library District’s adult programming efforts, includingoversight & execution of classes & events• Works in concert with VBDL’s Public Relations Coordinator.• Collection development and assisting library users with digital resources including Overdrive. • Strong community collaboration and engagement skills required. Qualifications:• MLIS or its equivalent from an accredited library school.• Minimum of 3 three years of library experience working with youth. The Van Buren District Library serves 44,000 residents at seven locations in Van Buren County. Van Buren District Library headquarters is located approximately 20 miles west of the Kalamazoo area, home to Western Michigan University and a lively downtown. Financial assistance is available to attend Fall Institute for Youth Services and MLA 2020 Virtual Conference - Scholarship apps are due Friday!

The countdown is on for MLA’s Fall Institute for Youth Services<https://www.milibraries.org/spring-institute>, this October 27, and MLA 2020 Virtual Conference<https://www.milibraries.org/annual-conference>, October 28-29. We are excited to gather virtually with the Michigan library community next month and we don't want anyone to miss out on the opportunity to attend because of financial reasons. MLA provides close to $10,000 annually for librarians and support staff at any Michigan library to attend MLA events. There are two specific funds that provide scholarships – the MLA Education Fund and the MLA/MALC Academic Library Fund. Individual members of MLA are eligible for MLA Education Fund and MLA/MALC Academic Library Fund scholarships. Scholarship applications are due this Friday, September 25. Homebound Services Questions Compiled #2

Hey Everyone, I received some great information after I sent out my original compilation and since I had a few people asking for the results from my original email with the questions, I thought I would compile the new information and send it out again. Some of these libraries are sending things through the mail and not having them delivered but I included them in my compilation anyway. I also received several application examples and other information from various libraries along with answers to my questions, so I created a folder in google drive with all of the information that I received in it. Filming kit recommendations

We are doing a lot of virtual programs like everyone else and we were looking to buy a better filming setup than what we have right now. Currently we are borrowing a tripod/ ring light and we are using green paper for a green screen background. We would like to buy a portable green screen, a ring light on a tripod and some sort of additional lighting for a semi-portable filming kit. We already have a very good camera that takes video, so we don't need anything like that. Does anyone already have a similar setup and have any recommendations on specific equipment? Is there another piece of equipment we should consider buying? Thank you in advance for your help.
