Murder Mystery at the Library: Question

Hello, The Belleville Area District Library is contemplating on conducting a Murder Mystery Program and we were wondering if any other libraries have conducted their own murder mysteries? If so I have a couple questions: * Was the program popular? If so, what was your solution to managing its popularity? * As many murder mysteries involves food, how was food provided? By Library or Pot luck? Leftovers? * Any logistical tips or difficulties encountered? * Was there anything that you wish you would have done differently? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Early next week physical mailings with the directions on how to access your manual and the 2020 Catalog (available online) will also go out to all public libraries. Reminder: please designate 1 staff person to access the manual code for your building. Once you have the code, you can download the manual to your library network drive, save to a thumb drive, and/or print to share with staff. Manuals can be downloaded in sections or as a full manual all at once. Art work is available in "Zip Collections," that make it easier for libraries to download the art in batches. Please note the wonderful new layout! Hard to move and fold down for storage. The second ones are fine. They're light and the height is adjustable. Medina OH Library Director Position now open

Library Director- Medina County (OH) District Library The Medina County District Library<https://www.mcdl.info/> Board of Trustees seeks an experienced and successful collaborator to provide outstanding, innovative services that will enrich the lives of community members, continue the Library's successes and further enhance the Library's stellar reputation. The seven-member, governing board oversees six locations (featuring four galleries able to display the work of talented artists) and a bookmobile providing services and programs to 145,137 residents with approximately 200 staff. Circulating 2.8 million items in 2018, the Library partnered to provide snacks to hungry kids after school and ran an after-school cooking club. MCDL also won the Ohio Library Council's Innovation Award for opening the County's only GED testing site. Supported by a $10.6 million annual operating budget, funding sources include a 10-year operating levy (expiring in 2027), the Public Library Fund (state of OH), and a supportive Friends of the Library group. Key opportunities for the next Director include a new strategic planning process and upcoming union negotiations. Currently, the Library is renovating the Medina Library to include an expanded genealogical research center and a maker space for students and entrepreneurs. The annual program recognizes the very best in editorial and design and is the most comprehensive of its kind in the industry. The March/April 2019 issue of Michigan History has been named one of two finalists for a "Full Issue" Eddie Award in the category of "City & Regional-Midwest."
