The Northville District Library seeks an enthusiastic, innovative Librarian to explore and advocate for the use of online resources and emergent technologies to enhance the effectiveness of library information and instructional services. Position: Digital Services Librarian, Part-time Up to 25 Hours per week, including some evenings and weekends. Duties: Works as part of a team to develop and maintain the Library’s website and Intranet. Instructs the public in use of digital resources in small class settings and one on one. Provides reference, instructional, and reader’s advisory services for patrons of all ages and develops a section of the Adult Services Collection. Explores and encourages the deployment of emerging technologies to engage library users and staff in new ways Responsible for Collection Development in assigned areas Provides training and support for Library staff Reports to: Library Director Requirements: MLS from an ALA accredited university or near completion of MLS Strong commitment to customer service Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills Ability to seek out and learn new technologies and apply them to library services Able to do basic troubleshooting of computers and printers. Novice cataloger seeks catalog cleaning information!!

Does anyone know a good reference for tidying up a library catalog? We'll be switching to Verso in January and would like to do a quick (hopefully inexpensive--preferably in-house) clean up. I've been involved in cataloging on a limited basis--am just taking MARC Intro. and MeLCat Cataloging webinars, and have been trained up by our very recently retired cataloger. Make a difference on West Michigan's Lakeshores as the new Library Director for the Muskegon Area District Library <http://www.madl.org/> , headquartered in Muskegon (MI) County. The Library's Board of Trustees seeks an innovative and experienced Director to implement an exciting vision for the library and its many constituencies. MADL serves 119,450 residents in 21 municipalities and townships. Governed by an eight-member Board of Trustees, the 10 library locations provide excellent services and programs with 50 staff (30.13 FTEs) and a $3 million annual budget. The Library is anticipating a levy renewal campaign to take place as early as 2015 and has a capital campaign in progress-expansion of the Norton Shores branch to create Storyville <http://www.muskegonstoryville.org/> -a library project modeled after the innovative Baltimore County program and focusing on early childhood literacy in Muskegon County. MADL shares a catalog, resources and delivery system with other members of the Lakeland Library Cooperative. Do you have a spare APM?

Hi Everyone, We are running Comprises SAM as our print managment/time managment software. We have and old APM (or payment machine) that accepts bills and coins to pay for printing. Currently our APM has an LCD screen and bill accepptor that do not work. I was wondering if anyone has a spare APM they'd be willing to part with or if you know anyone who can repair these machines. Activity Kits

Hello everyone, I omitted information from Herrick District Library in Holland, Michigan in the summary I posted on MichLib about activity kits at other libraries. Their information is below. Please forgive my omission. Thank you again for all the feedback. Herrick District Library has themed story times that are packed into clear bags. In the past the bags included activities and some CDs and DVDs, but constantly filling bags and providing fresh activities were too labor intensive. Regular patrons and care providers check them out.
