Advanced E-rate Training - October 29 in Lansing

The Advanced E-rate Training session is scheduled for Tuesday, October 29,2013<http://www.solutionwhere.com/lom/cw/showcourse.asp?40> and will be held at the Library of Michigan. Linda Schatz will lead attendees through updates provided by the SLD. The workshop will focus on procurement and the Form 471 along with other information needed to submit an application. This workshop follows up on the information provided in the June Basic E-rate workshop held in June and will focus on higher-level issues that are encountered during the application process. Find an ACA Regional Lead Navigator in your area

This PDF is from a presentation made by the Michigan Consumers for Healthcare recently. For those interested in finding partners in their communities I've highlighted some of the pages within the file that may be of help. For those that would like to find a local partner to invite to present a session or to help provide information to patrons I would take a look at the specific pages listed below to find names of organizations serving your region. The entire presentation is very helpful but now that the four main Navigators have been funded they will each be working with additional Regional Lead Navigators around the state and those on-the-ground organizations may be better able to respond to requests for presentations and in-person sessions. Page 8 - shows a map of Michigan with the ten regions that are used to provide services. Page 13 - shows a map of Michigan by county and the number of languages spoken in each county. Page 18 - shows a general list of places or people that can assist consumers in Michigan. Page 29 - shows the Regions (from page 8) and the Regional Lead Navigators for that geographic area. Many libraries are considering how best to address local needs regarding the ACA. This update aims to help library staff connect patrons to available resources and community experts that can provide assistance. Please feel free to share this update with any community partners that might be interested. Local Help * The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has soft launched LocalHelp.healthcare.gov<http://wc4.net/t?r=850&c=3633224&l=337856&ctl=48CABCF:37D71AC352E2C07854445…>, where individuals or organizations can enter their geographic location to identify local ACA consumer assistance destinations in their area. Local consumer assisters (including Navigators, Certified Application counselors, etc.) can provide personal help in applying for healthcare coverage through the ACA. Libraries are welcome to request these print materials from CMS, however, it is important to note that quantities are limited and stock is constantly changing.
