Library code of conduct- implementation questions

Hello all! I am working on a draft for a Library Code of Conduct. I have found lots of information to generate a draft for our library. However, I do have some questions regarding implementation for those libraries that have posted codes. - How is the code of conduct communicated to patrons? Is it somewhere visible or only available online? - How are violations handled? - Any other best practice recommendations as we begin the process of implementing a formal code of conduct? Is there something you wish you could change about your current code, or something you feel is a challenge? You can reply to me on or off list, and if others are interested I would be happy to digest and report my findings. A Thousand letters Home One WWII Soldier's Story of War, Love and Life FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE One month after the 2006 death of her father, Aarol W. "Bud" Irish, Teresa Irish opened his army trunk. There, nestled in row after row, were her dad's nearly 1,000 letters from WWII. The letters were postmarked from Nov. 1942 to Dec. 1945. The fragile and yellowed pages were written to Bud's parents and to the sweetheart who would later become his wife. From lonesome, moonlit nights listening to the Hit Parade, to the foxholes and front lines in Germany, to correspondence with the heartbroken mothers whose sons died by his side, this is a moving, historic story of life and loss, hope and perseverance, and unwavering faith and true love. A Thousand Letters Home is comprised of 320 of these poignant letters and 104 corresponding photographs. Teresa's inspirational and engaging presentation is a tribute to our country's history, our freedoms, family values, and a call to individual citizenship in today's world. JDL is delighted to welcome Teresa Irish for her program, The Journey of the Letters at Carnegie Library's Clare H. Sergeant Auditorium, 244 W. Hello Everyone, I recently posted a question asking about "Tablets in Libraries" and came across a free virtual conference on such a topic: "So Your Library Wants To Lend iPads" by Heather Westhaver from Burling Public Library in Ontario, Canada. This session will be available on Friday, October 18 from 12pm-1pm EST. There are a lot more sessions than just this opportunity. "Library 2.013 Worldwide Virtual Conference. The third annual global conversation about the future of libraries is scheduled for October 18-19, 2013. The conference will once again be held entirely online around the clock in multiple languages and time zones. Everyone is invited to participate in this FREE forum designed to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among information professionals worldwide. Update on AWE Discount Pricing Opportunity

Here's the latest news from Jeremy Link at AWE: We’ve reached a count of 26 AWE computers & tablets from Michigan libraries for the Group Purchase. This puts us into the next discount level (25-49 units) and a price of $2,835. I’ll begin sending order forms to the libraries that verbally committed at the $2,835 price. I’ll ask that the libraries sign the form confirming the order and either fax or scan/email the form back to me. If we reach the last discount level at 50+ units then we will adjust all signed orders down to the final price of $2678 before sending the invoice. Some libraries have asked if they could commit now and pay later. The discount opportunity is available through November 15, 2013. If your library commits by November 15, AWE is willing to extend payment terms for 60 days so the payment due date would be January 15. Note from Angie: We are working with AWE to determine the next discount window so libraries that are unable to pay by January 15 for this opportunity will be able to budget for the 2014 opportunity.
