Content Schedule Template?
by Tahquamenon Library Director 20 May '26

20 May '26

Hello Librarians, Not having a background in public relations, it has been difficult for me to assess what should be prioritized to post, and how often posts need to go out. I am also not sure how much time to devote to this. A content schedule or calendar has been suggested by my Library Advisory Board as a time-saving mechanism. Does anyone (or your marketing team) have a schedule for things that you post on social media? If so, could you share it? Specifically, our social media is a Facebook page with ~1200 followers. We also have a local newspaper that maintains a decent sized readership in the community. My Board has also made note that the Library should have a single voice to engage with the public, but at the same time has suggested that I hand off posts to other staff members as needed. Maintaining editorial oversight seems like the simplest way to square that circle, but that seems like it would take up approximately the same amount of time as just making the posts myself. Does anyone have any suggestions on that? Sorry if I've sent a previous thread about this, Ross Wine

LM LSTA Improving Access to Information Grant program - Call for peer reviewers
by Reish, Karren (MDE) 20 May '26

20 May '26

Good morning! I am looking for peer reviewers for the 2026/2027 LSTA Improving Access to Information grant program. Peer reviewers ensure that proposals are read by folks with current experience. If you would be interested in doing this, it consists of reading 5 to 6 proposals in June/early July, completing a review rubric for each proposal in an online portal, and attending a grant review meeting in mid/late July. This will take approximately one full day in total. There will be a brief training on how to use the review portal. The group review meeting is both in-person and virtual attendance. Let me know if you might be interested in participating as a reviewer. Program Recommendation War Dogs
by Hilary Maurin 20 May '26

20 May '26

Hi Everyone, We had the pleasure of hosting Clint Symons (and service dog Scout!) last night at the Rochester Hills Public Library for a program about the Michigan War Dog Memorial, located in South Lyon. Clint was great and presented information about the history of military dogs as well as the story behind the memorial. There wasn't a dry eye in the house! Clint does not charge a fee, but asks for a donation to the memorial. He can be reached at mwdmk9.clintsymons(a)gmail.com https://mwdm.org/ Have a great week! *Hilary Maurin * *Adult Services Librarian* *Rochester Hills Public Library* 500 Olde Towne Road Rochester, MI 48307 *248.650.7137*

Side Hustle for Seniors Program
by Anna Merritt 19 May '26

19 May '26

Hello All, Last winter we held a Side Hustles program at our library. Two presenters discussed online selling and Shipped shopping. Both were independent users who shared their experiences, including the pros and cons, of each job. The only issue is that many seniors attended who were apprehensive about the technology side of the online sales and the physical side of Shipped. So... I want to host a program for Side Hustles specifically targeted towards seniors. Has anyone ever hosted a program like this? How did you conduct your research? Did you bring someone in to present? Any feedback would be most appreciated. -- *Anna Merritt* *Assistant Director/Interloan/Adult Programming* *Richland Community Library* 8951 Park Street l Richland MI 49083 richlandlibrary.org l zv283
