Summer Reading Program

We have quite a few historical yearbooks that need digitizing, can anyone recommend a service? We used to use OCI/American Digital Memories but they are shut down for the foreseeable due to an investigation about dangerous practices. ***Apologies for cross-posting*** *Please consider submitting a proposal to facilitate a discussion <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Nvjsk3yWNxWf-Xn15obcY50Jmvja8EPSDkwcvwZneD…> at this year's MIX <https://miala.org/mix_conference_2022.php>, scheduled for Friday, July 29, 2022 at Western Michigan University!* *This event is open to all interested in library instruction, regardless of position or place of employment.* Rather than hosting presentation sessions this year, the planning committee seeks to engage our colleagues from around the state in conversations and activities centered around increasing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in library instruction. This more informal structure is designed to encourage conversations among attendees. The submission process is straightforward -- simply provide a discussion / activity title, plus three questions you'll use in engaging participants in the topic of your choice (along with your name and contact information). That's it! As you consider what to submit, it's also helpful to know that: - Proposals that encourage active participation from attendees and will also result in a shareable final product (e.g. collaborative Google Docs, photos) are desired. - Discussions / activities are expected to be scheduled for 45 minutes. - Ideas and activities that have been presented before are welcome, as are new ideas, provided the focus is on interactivity or practical experience. - Expertise in a topic is not necessary to facilitate a session - feel free to propose a topic that you are interested in learning more about through discussion and activities with your colleagues. Please see information below: The IFLA Local History and Genealogy Section of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) invites proposals for papers highlighting innovative local history and genealogy projects and activities developed via social media channels. Whether it's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, or any of the other emerging platforms, social media is the perfect environment to communicate and remember historical events in innovative ways or to add nuance and a personal perspective on important historical moments. The workshop's theme : "Something Old, Something New: Using Social Media to Engage Communities with Local History" is in line with IFLA's 2022 World Library Information Congress topic – Inspire, Engage, Enable, Connect. This event will be held online on August 23 at 16.00 CET time as part two of the Local History and Genealogy Section's Summer Meeting.
