Hello all (please excuse the cross-posting), Plymouth District Library is hosting a virtual workshop presented by Chaya Milchtein, aka the Mechanic Shop Femme <https://mechanicshopfemme.com/>, about the fundamentals of owning a car on Thursday, January 26nd from 6:30-8:00pm. Please feel free to share this information with your patrons or colleagues! Locker for after hours pickup
by Dorothy Hull Library 17 Jan '23

17 Jan '23

Thank you to all who responded. The overwhelming response is that patrons of libraries who have installed lockers love them. I heard from just one library who felt that use had fallen off and might not keep them, but there were 18 libraries total with them, and 5 who wanted more information because they are considering them. A couple of the larger systems had installed them in a single branch to begin with, but plan to continue to expand their use. Responses were from all sizes of libraries and well distributed around the lower peninsula. My query was born of looking for alternatives to expanding hours when our past history means that those hours will serve very few patrons. Lockers look like a very cost-effective option. Libraries who have lockers, in no particular order, include: Loutit Gladwin County Jordan Valley Presque Isle Hudsonville Petoskey Harrison District Pere Marquette District East Lansing Jackson - Meijer Branch Cadillac-Wexford Saginaw Tribal Libraries Grand Rapids Public (3 branches) Howell Southgate Brandon Township Novi Grand Ledge Again, thanks to all who responded.
