Donations for MLA's Conference Silent Auction I just saw the countdown to conference on the webpage, and we are down to 18 days/18 hours until it begins. Will we see you there? Did you know... Every year, MLA offers scholarships for attendance and workshops, conferences, and other events. This money comes from donations from all of you! How can you help? Vendors and attendees are asked for donations of any kind to this auction: library bling, vendor give-a-ways, new books, posters, a weekend stay in a fabulous location, anything which could either stand alone as an auction item or could be combined with other items to make a great gift basket! I have also used the site as a selection tool and find it really helpful and well-rounded. DPL Repair Cafe this Saturday

Now that the branch is open on Saturdays again, the DPL Repair Cafe at Knapp Branch is starting up. We will meet from 11-1, usually on the second Saturday of the month. Our next session this season is coming up this Saturday, 10/11. It has been great to see the number of local libraries that have teamed up with the other Detroit Repair Cafe. Health Resource Cabinet?

Hello Librarians, I'm not sure if I have used the optimal descriptive terms, but I am interested in exploring the possibility of a health resource cabinet of some sort. Our school has a small community health center, and they would be interested in helping us establish a health resource cabinet. Do you have a community health closet/cabinet? How big is it? What materials/resources do you supply? How do you balance accessibility and privacy? Have you encountered any issues with the concept?
