Library Director - Pickaway County Library (OH) The Pickaway County Library (OH)<https://pickawaylib.org/> Board of Trustees seeks a Library Director who is a creative and innovative thinker with strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team leader, comfortable addressing conflict when it arises, and successful in promoting library services as the face of the library with infectious energy and enthusiasm for the organization. Serving approximately 59,000 residents of Pickaway County from two locations and a bookmobile, the Library Director will utilize a staff of 28 FTE and a $2.2 million budget provided through the Ohio Public Library Fund and bolstered by a healthy general fund to provide information and services that educate, enrich, and engage its community. The seven-member board is appointed by the Pickaway County Commissioners and Court of Common Pleas. Library highlights include beautiful well-maintained facilities, participation in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a wide variety of programming, established partnerships with local organizations, and an ongoing commitment to excellent customer service. The library's current key initiatives are: assessing the needs of patrons outside the city of Circleville, maintaining fair compensation and benefits for employees, and ensuring the library remains a safe space for all residents. Pickaway County is home to a growing parks & trails system, unique water recreation activities, interesting museums and historic sites, and one-of-a-kind shops both in the county seat of Circleville and the surrounding scenic towns. This warm and welcoming community hosts over 400,000 visitors annually at the Circleville Pumpkin Show which serves as a celebration of the important role agriculture plays in the county. Residents of Pickaway County enjoy proximity to the Columbus metropolitan community while maintaining a unique, small-town feel. Broadband and Digital inclusion update from NTIA and USDA

Good afternoon, please find some information about digital developments that relate to libraries from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration and the USDA, shared with us the Institute of Museum and Libraries. These include the chance to apply for a grant (#2) and to provide feedback on future grants (#3). 1. NTIA, with IMLS input, developed a resource for their Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program as well as Digital Equity Act Programs: "Working with Libraries: A guide for States and Territories on leveraging libraries in digital inclusion efforts: https://broadbandusa.ntia.doc.gov/sites/default/files/2023-03/How_to_Engage… 2. USDA recently announced a round of Community Connect Grants, which support broadband deployment in rural communities where service is least likely to be commercially available, and construction-related activities are allowable. The position requires an associate’s degree from an accredited college or current coursework towards such a degree. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, community oriented, computer literate, grant writer, and familiar with the operations of a library. Also the successful candidate will be available for training and on-going education. Must also be available to work evenings and weekends. The Oscoda County Library is an equal opportunity employer.
