The FY2014/2015 Public, Cooperative and BTBL Annual Reporting Data is now available for use at www.michigan.gov/librarystatistics<http://www.michigan.gov/librarystatistics> . The 2014 Michigan Public Libraries Statistics comprises compiled data Excel spreadsheets. Data was collected as part of the 2014/2015 Annual Report/State Aid Application. Library systems were asked to report data that includes their main and branch libraries. The reporting year for the public libraries is the most recent fiscal year completed by each library prior to October 1, 2014. Correction: In my original mailing I stated that the data was from public libraries last completed fiscal year prior to October 1, 2013. Senior backpack programs

Is anyone out there doing a Senior backpack program? It's something we are considering for our consumer health library, and I am looking for ideas of how to get started. Someone mentioned there is a library in MI that has a Senior backpack program, and I would love more information about how it works (size of backpack collection, variety of topics, funding sources and/or partnerships, etc.). MeL Minute - Internet Safety

Hello all, Recently I was asked by a fellow librarian what resources in MeL speak to internet safety, especially for kids. What a timely question. With hacking, phishing, scamming, and all manner of mischievous and malicious online activity at an all-time high, I wanted to make sure that MeL was offering some resources that address this topic.
