Dual monitor setup for patrons to see your computer screen?

Has anyone out there discovered a nice-looking way to implement a dual monitor type of setup that would allow our patrons to see the computer screen at the circ/ref desk when we want them to see it? I am looking for a system that would allow this that could be controlled easily (turned on/off as needed) by our staff and would keep us from having to swivel the monitors around to try to show them what we are doing? I don't want to add something clunky looking to our circ/reference desk so I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a creative, sleek solution to this!? Passive Programming Idea for Braille Literacy Month!

Looking for a passive programming idea for your library this winter? Louis Braille was born January 4, 1809, and to celebrate his legacy the whole month of January has been declared as Braille Literacy Month! Why not set up a braille station for your patrons? The Braille and Talking Book Library can send Braille Alphabet cards that feature the letters a-z to use for this exercise (while supplies last, see the attached photo for a visual of the card). Then simply purchase a couple slate and stylus' and set them out at your library with basic instructions on how to use the Braille Alphabet card as a reference to write their names. This is great for kids and adults alike-it is a short and fun exercise that educates the public on the basics of braille. If you are interested in receiving any of the Braille Alphabet cards for your location, please email me back directly off-list. Included below is also a link to a slate and stylus for reference, however it may be possible to find one cheaper if you shop around. The Braille and Talking Book Library is a free service made possible through the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped. Patrons do NOT have to be blind to use our audio book service, and we have over 60,000 books available! The Lenawee District Library is seeking interested applicants for a full-time Adult Services Librarian position. The Lenawee District Library (formerly Lenawee County Library) was formed in late 2012, and passed a 10 year operating millage in August, 2013. The passing of the millage provided a significant budget increase and stable working environment for the library. The Lenawee District Library has a service population of 41,000, five branch libraries (in Addison, Britton, Clayton, Deerfield, and Onsted) a headquarters library in Adrian, and a bookmobile. The Adult Services position will perform daily work in the headquarters library in Adrian, but oversee adult programming at all branches. The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and includes some evening and weekend hours. Salary is based on qualifications and experience, and includes an excellent benefits package. Call for chapter proposals: Project Management in the Library Workplace

Please forward to interested colleagues and other listservs. Call for proposals Advances in Library Administration and Organization Project Management in the Library Workplace Publication due 2018 Series Editor: Samantha Hines, Peninsula College Volume Editor: Alice Daugherty, Louisiana State University Libraries Many works have been published on ‘how to do project management’ in librarianship, but there are gaps in coverage of the deeper issues and surrounding processes. For example, what methods have been successfully used, in the library workplace, to assess efficacy of project management? What are the future trends and implications for library administration and management as formal project management schema become more commonplace in library work? How do these formal schemas demonstrably affect and improve library workplaces? For this forthcoming volume, we welcome submissions that consider how project management affects library administration and that address the role of project management in the library workplace. Proposals in the following areas would be of particular interest: · Assessments of project management approaches · Integration of project management processes and procedures within libraries · Project leadership in libraries and future trends · Project management education and certification for library workers This will be the first volume of Advances in Library Administration and Organization (ALAO) to publish in 2018. About the Advances in Library Administration and Organization series ALAO<http://www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com/products/books/series.htm?id=0732-0671> offers long-form research, comprehensive discussions of theoretical developments, and in-depth accounts of evidence-based practice in library administration and organization.
