Book Club Books Up For Grabs

Happy Friday Everyone, I had to get rid of some more book club kits because we are running out of room again and I thought I would offer it up to other libraries like I have in the past. I have 9 sets of books up for grabs; there are 10 paperback copies of each book plus a few have a large print copy of the book. They are all in good to excellent condition. The books have a white sticker with a number on the lower spine and a sticker on the front cover that has our library name and a note about it belonging to a book club kit. Our library name is stamped on the title page and usually page 39. I am not removing/covering any of these for fear of ruining the books, please remove or cover all mention of our library when you receive them. I also have copies of the discussion questions in Microsoft word that are on our letterhead, please let me know if you want them. These go pretty quickly, so please only request one set per library. This morning, our finance team received a memo containing the following statement: The definition of "employer" expressly exempts a "nonprofit agency" from its definition. Beyond this, the legislation does not provide exemptions for any businesses or organizations (though see "accrual" for new rules regarding small businesses). Does this exemption refer to certified nonprofits or nonprofits categorized by tax code? Does our financial people have it wrong? I would appreciate any clarification on this matter. Possess a master’s degree in library and information science from an ALA-accredited college or university; or 3. Library Building insurance

Dear Directors, Our building and contents insurance is through Michigan Township Participating Plan which goes through BHS insurance. This year we paid over $12,000 for coverage last year was a little over $10,000. Has anyone else had a large hike in premiums? The coverage is $3.5 million on the building and $850,000 for contents plus technology. Hello everyone, We are currently reviewing our Library Building Insurance policy which is up for renewal. We currently are using Municipal Underwriters of Michigan. Our annual premium as almost doubled because they have stated "Due to higher losses on smaller sized accounts state wide, the insurance company has instituted a $5000 minimum premium on all accounts". that the underwriters have reviewed the economy, inflation, etc. and had to make an across the board increase for all policy holders. Can you please share who you use and if you are satisfied with your insurance companies? Also, has this become an issue for your library as well. Good morning, If you are a Class 1 or 2 Library and have the time I am currently looking for information on if your Municipality owns your building and if you pay rent. If so how much do you pay? The second part of this is, do you pay administrative fees to the accountant at the municipality, and again if so how much do you pay and exactly what does your accountant do for you? In his talk, he will relate the story of what led him to write the book and the experience of visiting the beautiful and remote Rogers City. To help the locals tell their story, he will feature excerpts from the recorded interviews he conducted. Here's an excerpt from the book: "Port Sanilac's population according to the 2020 census was 567. Harrisville's was 437. Oscoda's was 916.
