Summer Reading 2025 Video Collab

Hi all! It was so much fun doing a video collab for Summer Reading last year and I wanted to put the idea out there (this time super early) that we do it again this next SRP; what do you think? Last year we did a general summer reading video and a Youth-specific one, along with a fun "I'm a librarian, of course I...." TikTok trend. When the final versions of the videos are ready, we can put them in the shared Google Drive so you can add them to your socials! Any library that would like to participate is welcome to join in (which was originally inspired by the awesome Freedom to Read video <https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IAHqimGhnlP1b08MDexGlC8p3ML3mewt/view> ). Last year, I did the two SRP videos in TikTok; you can save the video as a draft without the watermark before posting it on TikTok and it can then be published as a Reel or Story or video! The Library Director reports directly to a seven-member Board of Library Commissioners. Somerset County Library System boasts 9 full-service branches and 15 member communities with a service population of 225,000. There are 191 FTE. Patrons enjoy collections of books, music, videos, and other media, online courses and live events, ESL assistance, home borrowing, gathering space, movies, free museum and cultural passes, access to community social services, passport processing, streaming access from home, and other programming. The current Library leadership team is comprised of highly skilled professionals who consistently deliver superior library service. The new Library Director will require a nuanced approach to system strategy and stakeholder relationships to complement an already highly functional library system. Greetings! We are in the market for a better projector/sound system, ceiling mounted, and I'm looking for recommendations. Our community room seats 45, if that is of any help. Our current system was cobbled together by Dr. Frankenstein. Effective but not pretty. And possibly dangerous (at least that crosses my mind when I look at its many wires). I admit that it sounds dry, but haven't you wondered why Michigan's number of seats in the House of Representatives keep getting reduced, when the population keeps growing (at least a little)? Dr. Grynaviski, Associate Professor in WSU's Political Science Department, will explore how the number of seats in the U.S. House of Representatives was set, when the number was set, and why this number has not changed in recent history. He will also reflect on the possible impacts these numbers have on governance and the relationship of representatives to their constituents, and how Michigan's representation has been impacted.
