The library serves Caddo Parish, which has a population of over 240,000 residents. Offering a plethora of public programs, Shreve Memorial Library hosts successful large-scale annual events such as Author Faires, the Children's Book Festival, and One Book One Parish, and joins forces with community partners to contribute services towards events like ArtBreak. Key initiatives for this role will include fostering a positive staff culture of inclusivity, implementation of a recently drafted technology plan, execution of a system-wide capital improvement plan, building upon existing community partnerships, and forging new connections to create additional opportunities for library users to dream, discover, and do. Fwd: Update on Baker & Taylor Business Operations
by Jim Flury 13 Oct '25

13 Oct '25

All, As this is the first official communique I've received from B&T I thought I would share it, although I suspect it was sent to everyone who has interacted via email with B&T. Not addressed are a couple of questions TLN library directors have posed to us recently, including "What happens to the TLN statewide contract with B&T?" and "What is going to happen to the Boundless B&T eBook platform?" Our MI B&T rep Curt Leppert is still working. I'm not sure if Curt is being paid. Curt's email address is [ mailto:curt.leppert@baker-tylor.com | curt.leppert(a)baker-tylor.com ] I cannot guarantee Curt will respond to individual emails, both because he is overwhelmed right now but also because he likely has to be careful in terms of what he can say. I believe GA Group [ https://gagroup.com/ | https://gagroup.com/ ] is the same firm that was retained to handle the liquidation of Creativebug earlier that year. That subsidiary of bankrupt JoAnne was ultimately sold to a new owner. Let's keep all of the loyal, hardworking, dedicated to the cause of libraries B&T folks in our thoughts during what is an incredibly difficult time. Jim Jim Flury Technical Services Manager The Library Network 41365 Vincenti Court Novi, MI 48375 248-536-3100, ext 133 Note New Fax Number: 248-716-5584 Note New Email Address:jflury@tln.org From: "Baker & Taylor" <reply(a)e.baker-taylor.com> To: "Jim Flury" <jflury(a)tln.lib.mi.us> Sent: Monday, October 13, 2025 2:30:46 PM Subject: Update on Baker & Taylor Business Operations Update on Baker & Taylor Business Operations On Friday, September 26 , we announced that ReaderLink and Baker & Taylor had terminated discussions regarding a proposed ReaderLink acquisition of Baker & Taylor assets. Since the unforeseen termination of the proposed acquisition, we have been working tirelessly with our advisors to determine the next steps for the business. Unfortunately, there are no sustainable pathways forward, and we have made the difficult decision to begin winding down our operations over the coming months. Below are important details: * Title Source 360 will remain operational for the immediate future, and libraries can continue to order titles that are in stock. * We are no longer accepting backorders and pending backorders have been cancelled. * We will no longer accept deposits or invoice customers for subscriptions. More detailed information will be sent to customers who subscribe to Baker & Taylor services. * If you have questions about existing deposits, credits, or funds with Baker & Taylor please email [ mailto:LibraryClaims@baker-taylor.com | LibraryClaims(a)baker-taylor.com ] and include your library name, account number and other relevant information. * Customers with pending Opening Day Collections will be contacted directly. We sincerely regret that these unforeseen events have made it necessary for us to wind down our business. Serving libraries and your communities has been an immense honor. Additional questions can be directed to [ mailto:Baker&TaylorComms@baker-taylor.com | Baker&TaylorComms(a)baker-taylor.com ] . We will continue to provide updates as they become available. We have engaged the GA Group to work in concert with the existing BT team to manage the orderly liquidation process effective immediately.
