This position is responsible for receiving, processing and inputting new materials, including audio-visual materials, books and magazines and assisting in maintaining and merchandising collections. This position also includes some hours working on public services desks. Qualifications include high school completion, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability or work independently and proficiency with computer applications including data entry, running reports, and vendor communication. Call for Proposals: Power Up Conference in Leadership for Youth Services Managers and Staff, March 28-29, 2019 About the Conference Do you have ideas to share about management and leadership in Youth Services? The University of Wisconsin-Madison Information School is pleased to offer the second Power Up Conference to share your exciting ideas! The conference will take place in Madison, Wisconsin on March 28-29, 2019. The program committee will be accepting proposals until August 3, 2018. Topics may include, but are not limited to: strategic planning, collaborations, ethics, leadership pathways, advocacy, mentorship, managing change, work/life balance, staff motivation, and innovation. Youth services librarians and staff from public libraries, schools, after-school programs, museums, etc. are invited to attend – we had 142 attendees from 20 states at the 2017 conference! VHS to DVD/Digital Converter in the library

Hi All, We have tried to add a VHS to DVD converter station in our library so that patrons can convert their home movies into a usable format, unfortunately the first machine we tried only works half the time and not at all for any of the mini-cassettes in a converter. I'd like to find a better solution and am wondering if anyone out there has a machine or a PC setup that works really well to convert VHS tapes to DVD and/or digital and if so can you let me know what you are using? I was excited how many patrons wanted to use this service and then bummed when our machine seems to be a dud! Hopefully we can find a better solution soon!
