Ingram/Backstage New Partnership: Also, B&T Customer Letter
by Jim Flury 21 Nov '25

21 Nov '25

All, Matt Church, Director, Berkley Public Library shared the below link from Ingram with me concerning that vendor's current turnaround time for book shipments, as well as their new partnership with authority control vendor Backstage Library Works for Cataloging/Processing services, including shelf ready processing [ https://bslw.com/collection-management/shelf-ready-processing/ | https://bslw.com/collection-management/shelf-ready-processing/ ] Matt noted, and I 100% concur, how nice it is to receive such a detailed update from a vendor! Those who've been around for a bit might recall that Ingram previously worked with another authority control vendor, Marcive, to provide this service. Marcive closed December 31, 2024. [ https://click.e.ingramcontent.com/deliveries/dgSUhgsDANGXDtCXDgGapu4DbbHAvV… | https://click.e.ingramcontent.com/deliveries/dgSUhgsDANGXDtCXDgGapu4DbbHAvV… ] Also, in case you haven't seen it I have attached a copy of the November 12 letter TLN received from Amandeep Kochar, Chief Executive Officer, Baker & Taylor, LLC. Today, Friday November 21 is the final day B&T will accept orders from libraries. TLN advises libraries that have questions concerning subscriptions or lease quotas to contact Riveron Consulting using one or both of the email addresses noted in the letter. hotspot aging or settings question
by Katharine Lion 20 Nov '25

20 Nov '25

Hello, Just wondering if anyone can share their experience with the longevity of a mobile hotspot. We have a few that people keep bringing back saying the hotspot had intermittent service or were unreliable. I'm wondering if they have just reached their age limit and are dying (at 3 years old) or if the settings we have are incorrect somehow. We do have a lot of rural users so we've been chalking it up to service issues based on location but with 3 brought back this week alone, I'm now questioning that. -- *Katharine Lion *(she/her) Web / Graphic Design & Arts Programming
