Expanded Performance Contract Samples
by acochran＠grpl.org 16 Jun '20

16 Jun '20

Hi all - we are looking at updating and expanding our presenter/performer contracts to handle the complexities of virtual programming and an ever-shifting environment of pandemic. Would love it if you could share examples of your contract (s), especially if they include language around content creation, quality control and ownership / usage of content. We also have not formerly included a force majeure clause or spelled out how cancellations or rescheduling programs would work. Thanks so much! Responses off list are fine. If there is interest, I'm happy to compile responses and share widely. Amy L. Join us Tuesday, June 30 at 2:00 PM for "From Potlucks to Planning: Community Engagement Success at a Small, Rural Library," presented by Cindy Fesemyer. Tuesday, June 30 @ 2:00 ET SRLC Presents: From Potlucks to Planning: Community Engagement Success at a Small, Rural Library Cindy Fesemyer<https://libraryofmichigan.z2systems.com/event.jsp?event=310&> Cost: Free Cindy Fesemyer was a newcomer to a small rural community when she took the job as their new Library Director. During her seven years in that position, she grew from a clueless newbie to a strong community advocate. With some training, strong partnerships, and little bit of fake-it-till-you-make-it, she and her team positioned the library as a go-to resource for the entire community. She shares her experience with community engagement efforts as an example of libraries at the center of small rural communities. Instructor: Cindy Fesemyer is the Adult and Community Services Consultant for the State Library of Wisconsin. Previous to that she served for seven years as the Director of the Columbus Public Library in Columbus, Wisconsin where she and her team earned a runner up honor as Library Journal's 2017 Best Small Library in America. Cindy serves as a Library Trustee for the Madison Public Library and is a member-at-large on the Board of the Public Library Association. In her capacity as an engaged rural librarian, she sat on advisory councils for the ALA Libraries Transforming Communities: Models for Change program and the Philadelphia Free Library's IMLS Award for Community-Centered Librarianship. Librarianship is Cindy's second career, following 14 years in nonprofit administration, fundraising, and community organizing. On a personal level, Cindy is sustained by her radio-host husband and their twin, teenage, soccer-fanatic daughters. Webinar link will be emailed to registered attendees the day before the event starts. This project is made possible by grant funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) administered by the State of Michigan through the Library of Michigan. Evette M. The New Opportunities in Adult Programming virtual meeting will return on Monday, June 15 at 10:00 am Eastern. Next week we will hear from the University of Michigan's Bryan Maxey. He will be presenting on the topic of MOOCs, massive open online courses, and related issues such as how to access MOOC content in low-bandwidth areas, where to find free MOOCs on various platforms, and some samples as well. To review the notes and find the recording link to all our New Opportunities in Adult Programming virtual meetings visit our Google folder here: https://bit.ly/lm-adult (includes chat logs) We use the same link each time we meet and all the resources provided can be found in the Google document. You can add your own questions and tips to this as well to share with your colleagues. Join us online or by telephone here: https://michigan-host.zoom.us/j/98381393043?pwd=YkJJUkdGZFV5VEVvckVJY3g3R3h… Password: 340524 Telephone: 216 706 7005 OR 8664345269 (US Toll Free) Conference code: 579192 We hope libraries continue to build on the skills and creativity that they have exhibited during the stay at home environment. Creating new opportunities for library engagement in a virtual environment is still going to be necessary now and into the future. On Monday we will also be looking for feedback on the date, time and frequency for this virtual meeting. I need to move it away from Mondays and we want to hear how often you would like to have a virtual discussion around the topic of adult programming. Please let us know if you have questions.
