Laingsburg Happenings
by Sara Danford 11 Feb '26

11 Feb '26

Hi all, We are hosting an open house meet’n’greet for our Dog Sled and Native Art Exhibit on 2/28 and I am inviting and sharing the flyer with you all. This is a tribute to local craftspeople in our community for their effectiveness at crossing cultural boundaries by means of niche skilled crafts. Included in the special exhibit are Native American wares that were received in appreciation of a local sled dog maker’s craftsmanship and heart. Other items were procured for personal study and enjoyment, such as numerous Native American baskets provided by master basket weaver, Annie Brock. Accompanying books are available for checkout for further research and intrigue. Hope to see you. All the best, Sara J. Danford Director, Laingsburg Public Library 517.651.6282

laptops for checkout
by Christina 11 Feb '26

11 Feb '26

Hello! Do any of you who lend laptops have to support them on your own? We don't have IT support to manage our fleet of laptops, nor do we have a large budget, so we've purchased relatively cheap laptops. While they are working just fine for now, we are finding it more difficult to keep them up to date and to maintain the ability for students to check them out and remove identifying information upon return. As laptops become more personalized, it's harder and harder to keep them from remembering login information. How do you all do that? Or, are we the only library without IT support or a budget for special software? Thanks in advance! -- *Christina Radisauskas | Library Director* *Aquinas College*1700 Fulton St E *|* Grand Rapids, MI 49506 616-632-2124 | radischr(a)aquinas.edu she/her/hers aquinas.edu/library <https://www.aquinas.edu/library> *|* Facebook <https://www.facebook.com/Grace-Hauenstein-Library-at-Aquinas-College-135101…> *|* Twitter <https://twitter.com/AQ_Library>

by Mick Howey 11 Feb '26

11 Feb '26

Hello Michlib! On February 2nd, BPL had the pleasure of hosting local author Scott Ellsworth for a talk about his last book *Midnight on the Potomac: The Last Year of the Civil War, the Lincoln Assassination, and the Rebirth of America. *Scott was great! Knowledgeable, conversational, personable, and engaging. He was easy to work with and keep in contact. The event drew 20 attendees despite the blistering cold that evening. His fee was $350. He does support and will work with you on that. Please let me know if you have any questions.
