Summer Reading and Prizes
by Justine Peterson 09 Jun '21

09 Jun '21

Hello all! Please remove/ignore if this isn't the right place for this question! Seville Township Library is *very *small, and as such, I'm in charge of summer reading! This isn't a problem, really, but I've never been in charge of a summer reading program before. And to be honest, it's been a while since I've participated in one! I have an array of prizes for kids and teens (no grand prizes yet until I get a better idea of how many participants I have), but I'm a little stumped as to when these prizes should be awarded. Twenty pages gets a sticker? Five books gets a water bottle? I want it to be fair, but am unsure how to go about it. How are other libraries basing these? *Justine Peterson* Library Director Seville Twp Library Riverdale, MI 48877 P: 989.833.7776 seville.michlibrary.org

Emergency Connectivity Fund - Information for Libraries from ALA
by Norris, Sonya (MDE) 09 Jun '21

09 Jun '21

How Can My Library Use ECF To help libraries take advantage of this one-time infusion of funding to offset expenses associated with providing off-premises connectivity to library patrons who need it most, the ALA Public Policy & Advocacy Office has created the Emergency Connectivity Fund Solutions Toolkit. The Toolkit includes five scenarios that reflect the most common ways libraries have worked to connect their communities using ECF-eligible equipment and provide detailed guidance modeled on examples collected from libraries across the country-in rural, suburban, and urban communities. Regardless of where your library is starting, there is a connectivity scenario to help you leverage new funding. http://www.ala.org/advocacy/ECF Sonya Schryer Norris Library of Michigan, MDE 517-335-1498 Are you interested in the full suite of continuing education provided through the Library of Michigan?
