Hello All, I'm curious to see how other libraries plan on implementing the new changes to the Library Privacy Act. TADL's Board has made patron privacy a priority and is leaning toward creating a policy that requires police to file an FOIA request for any surveillance tape requests but all fees will be waived if a crime is involved. need help finding a book

Hello, I have a patron who read a book about 20 years ago, which she would like to read again. If her memory is accurate, the title of the book was "Baby" and all she remembers on the front cover is the word "Baby". She said the story was about a woman who kidnapped a baby, moved away, and raised the child. She cannot remember the author name. I do not think that the book she is looking for is the book Baby by Patricia MacLachlan. That story line does not fit what she described. Book Ordering delays

Hello all, Can anyone who uses Ingram, Brodart, or a service besides Baker and Taylor for ordering books talk to me about your experiences with them, in the past and also now during the pandemic? We are currently using Baker and Taylor and experiencing huge delays in receiving our shipments. I'm wondering if this is unique to B&T or happening across the board due to COVID. We can certainly get books form amazon quickly, but B&T is months behind on our orders. Thanks! A single resource has numerous elements of format, some related to where and how it was published, as well as how it conveys information. For example, an article may appear in a newspaper or a magazine or a journal, and in addition to text, it may contain images, data visualizations, or even video. These format elements can affect how a user judges information resources. They can tell users about how and why the information was created, how they should use it, and how trustworthy it might be. Yet, there is not a good vocabulary for describing or discussing the impact elements of format can have on information evaluation. Instead users are left with a "know-it-when-they-see-it" understanding of format types. A recent research project<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fguides.uf…> has attempted to address this issue by developing the concept of "containers" and locating it within a descriptive taxonomy of other format elements, and examining how students (4th grade - graduate school) choose resources for assignments.
