The results of my query about vendors of audiobooks on CD -- and thank you very much to all who replied! I've included some relevant comments with each. *MicroMarketing* is a favorite, 4 votes with a couple of libraries having used their services before. Advantages: offer replacement discs, use replaceable sleeves & containers, can be ordered with cataloguing & labels. *Midwest Tapes* - 3 Also can ship with barcodes & labels. Complicated website. *Blackstone* - 4 Library editions last slightly longer. *Brilliance Audio* - 2 Damage easily, can't repair by buffing. *Books on Tape* - 1 *Ingram* - 1 *Recorded Books *- expensive, but durable ($65-110 each) -- Margaret (Meg) Converse Head Cataloguer, Technical Processing Alpena County George N. We will be welcoming Ellen Green from across the Atlantic for an intriguing discussion about archaeological digs in the city of London, UK. Please find the event description below: The city of London is a modern, thriving metropolis, a far cry from the barren deserts and deserted jungles people picture archaeologists working in. Yet the UK's capital city contains over 6000 years of history beneath its streets, and a large number of archaeological digs. Ellen Green gives us a look at the glorious, muddy practice of urban archaeology. Ellen Green is a PhD researcher at the University of Reading in England, specializing in human remains. Prior to her return to academia she was a field archaeologist in London for 5 years, and has worked on sites from every period in the city's history. She developed a love of archaeology through many visits to Roman ruins and castles in the UK over many vacations, which inspired a fascination with the past. She is also a big fan of Indiana Jones.
