Hi everyone, Our staff volunteer committee has been reviewing our application materials, as well as volunteer opportunities for the community. We had a couple ideas suggested for roles we may be able to offer. I'm wondering if you use volunteers for these, and if so - do you have any lessons learned or best practices? - Greeters/welcome desk - our main branch has the entire collection on the second floor, so the thought was to have this on the first floor when patrons enter. - Translators Thanks so much! You will need your own device with the *SpeedQuizzing App* installed to join in the fun. Gather a few friends and play as a team or play solo, but registration is required to attend. There will be three rounds of SpeedQuizzing with prizes for the winners after each round. Registration begins September 1st. Dearborn's Esper Library Renovation SUPER SALE!!!

Hello Library Land! Due to the upcoming renovations scheduled at Esper Library, we are having a huge sale of all things library-related next Wednesday, September 24, from 10 AM - 6 PM. I've attached the flyer to share with your community, but wanted to also invite library staff to stop in, as we have multiple items including shelving units and other feature furnishings assigned for a Silent Auction. Hello, The Hillsdale Community Library seeks to hire for a new position that will focus primarily on ordering & maintaining the collection, as well as working on catalog continuity and repair of damaged materials. This position will pay $20/hour and roughly 20 hours/week. It includes evenings and occasional weekends. While we hope to find a candidate that possesses an MLIS or will soon complete their MLIS, the position is open to candidates that have qualifying education and experience! Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * MLIS from an ALA accredited school preferred. A combination of a relevant bachelor's degree and experience will also be considered. * Experience working with children and/or within libraries. * Knowledge of children's literature and popular culture. * Ability to collaborate with staff as well as the programing coordinator and the director with ongoing cataloging and programming processes. * Ability to demonstrate knowledge, appreciation, and understanding of library materials, both print and electronic. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Willingness to obtain library certification and further training in professional skills as necessary. Looking for Musical Presenter for holiday program
