Policy Examples-Community Use/ Community Room
by North Adams Library 17 Aug '26

17 Aug '26

Hello and Happy Monday to all! Our library is conducting a review of all current policies and I am interested in Community Use/Community Room Policy examples. We have a pretty comprehensive one, but I think it needs some revision to make sure it is actually meeting our needs and those of our community members. If you have a policy for community use of the library space, would you mind sharing? I'll gladly compile responses if anyone else is interested. Thank you, Mariele Mariele Busch Library Director North Adams Community Memorial Library 4695 Knowles Rd, North Adams 517-287-4426 northadamslibrarian(a)gmail.com

Program Recommendation: Qigong and Sound Bath with Janet Joiner
by Stephen Jackman 15 Aug '26

15 Aug '26

This morning we had the pleasure of hosting Janet Joiner for her Qigong and Sound Bath program. Qigong is in a similar vein to Tai Chi. It helps attendees improve physical balance/stability, circulation, reduce stress, and enhance overall physical and emotional wellbeing. The program is two hours total: one hour for the Qigong session and one for the sound bath. We had an enthusiastic group of 30 people at the event. All expressed their deepest gratitude to the library for offering such a wonderful program. Janet was communicative, efficient, and adaptable to the attendees' needs. She is very interested in offering this program at other libraries and I can't recommend her enough. To reach Janet her email is janetmjoiner(a)gmail.com. -- Stephen Jackman Adult Services Librarian Milford Public Library sjackman(a)milfordlibrary.info 248-684-0845 ext. 306
