Job Summary: This position will plan, implement, and assess library outreach programs across diverse college and community groups to facilitate student information literacy and address academic support needs of non-traditional, underrepresented and transfer students. Initiates, plans, and conducts a variety of programs and activities to encourage the use of the library and resources to increase student engagement and success. Participates in proactive whole group instruction, and individual face-to-face and online reference service with the goal of teaching information literacy skills. Participates in the selection and evaluation of library materials and serves as library liaison to assigned academic programs. Develops content for the library website, web-based tutorials and research guides. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy. Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community. LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan. Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process. Required Qualifications: MLIS (Master's in Library or Information Science) or equivalent degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program and regionally accredited institution. Teaching or information literacy instruction experience. Demonstrated experience in outreach, communication, marketing or similar experience Demonstrated experience in planning and facilitating library programming. Demonstrated experience providing reference or research assistance. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of print and electronic information resources. Ability to work in a collegial, dynamic, and progressive team environment. Demonstrated experience working with students who are historically underrepresented. Free bookshelf !

Hello, We weeded out our James Patterson collection and now have a freestanding, double sided bookshelf up for grabs. Everything you need, comes with. Unfortunately I didn't take a proper photo before disassembling this, so I only have a security camera screenshot of the complete shelf. Everything is pretty compact taken apart, aside from the top piece (which is two parts). There are six columns on each side, and 18 shelves per side so 36 total shelves. You can adjust the shelves as well. If you have a cardigan on, you are granted the strength to assemble it on your own! It is roughly 2' W x 20' L x 3.5' H In all actuality, we are getting carpet replaced, so between April 23 - May 1 we would be happy to help someone at least load items up if they were interested! History of Pewabic Pottery program

Our library hosted Alethea Davenport of Pewabic Pottery of Detroit last night. She presented a history and overview of Pewabic Pottery, which was well-attended by our patrons--especially as there are 2 local arts organizations in our area. The speaker also brought samples of Pewabic Pottery to display, along with plenty of info. on how to become a member, tour their facility, or take classes there. They even brought a variety of coloring sheets. If you've not already had them out, I'd definitely recommend hosting this long-time & beloved organization at your library in the future. David M.
