Dearborn's Esper Library Renovation SUPER SALE!!!

Hello Library Land! Due to the upcoming renovations scheduled at Esper Library, we are having a huge sale of all things library-related next Wednesday, September 24, from 10 AM - 6 PM. I've attached the flyer to share with your community, but wanted to also invite library staff to stop in, as we have multiple items including shelving units and other feature furnishings assigned for a Silent Auction. The items will go to the highest bidder, and coordinating pick up of bid items will be required the following week. Thank you and hope to see you next Wednesday! Hello, The Hillsdale Community Library seeks to hire for a new position that will focus primarily on ordering & maintaining the collection, as well as working on catalog continuity and repair of damaged materials. This position will pay $20/hour and roughly 20 hours/week. It includes evenings and occasional weekends. While we hope to find a candidate that possesses an MLIS or will soon complete their MLIS, the position is open to candidates that have qualifying education and experience! Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * MLIS from an ALA accredited school preferred. A combination of a relevant bachelor's degree and experience will also be considered. * Experience working with children and/or within libraries. * Knowledge of children's literature and popular culture. * Ability to collaborate with staff as well as the programing coordinator and the director with ongoing cataloging and programming processes. * Ability to demonstrate knowledge, appreciation, and understanding of library materials, both print and electronic. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Willingness to obtain library certification and further training in professional skills as necessary. Pokemon Club Suggestions

Happy Wednesday! If your library hosts a pokemon club, I would love to hear what activities you have for your club! Our library currently has it set up as a self-run club, where kids can bring any pokemon related stuff they have and hang out with fellow pokemon trainers. We also provide boxes of cards that kids can choose from to keep each time the club meets. I am looking for any suggestions on things to add to our club! LM's Library Science Collection - New Access Points!

The Library of Michigan (LM) has a Library Science collection for the Michigan library community. It includes materials for public, academic and school libraries. LM has continued purchasing professional development titles this year and now has more ways for you to access the materials you need! LM's Library Science content can be found in three places: 1. In print in our Library Science collection here at the Library of Michigan. * You can check our New Library Science Collection titles at https://www.michigan.gov/libraryofmichigan/libraries/libsci. Click on the ANSWER catalog link and use "Library Science Collection" as one of the search terms in the Advanced Search - Notes field and you will pull only the library science collection titles. * We are BACK on MeLCat so you can search MeLCat for LM titles you have identified and order them OR you can contact the LM circulation desk for an Interloan request as well. 2. Gale eBooks on MeL! - Anyone can use the Gale eBooks collection on MeL. We've added 95 current library science titles to the collection from ALA and Libraries Unlimited. * Go to MeL.org, select eResources then the eResources by letter G. Under G you'll see Gale eBooks with subjects linked on the left nav bar. 3. LM's eBook Central Collection - If you have an LM library card, you can use our ProQuest eBook Central collection. You can request a card at Michigan.gov/librarycard. * Go directly to eBook Central collection at the Michigan.gov/LMdatabases page or search in ANSWER as the ProQuest titles show there as well.
