FYI, I am passing this on. It is the library in the community next to mine in suburban Milwaukee. It is the #1 library in MKE Co for usage per resident and #3 in the State of WI. It is a wonderful library and a great opportunity. The position is available due to the current director moving out of state. I can't answer specific questions about the position, since it's not MY library. The ideal candidate would have some experience managing projects, since the Director will move a $2 million renovation plan forward in 2023-2024. Call For Papers on Michigan History: 2022 Graduate Student Essay Prize from the Michigan Historical Review The Michigan Historical Review is pleased to announce its 2022 Graduate Student Essay Prize. The winner will receive a cash prize of $1,000 and publication in our Spring 2023 issue. The contest is open to papers from graduate students exploring themes related to Michigan's past. RFP example sought: children's room with few requirements

Hello! We are working towards a renovation of our children's room. We don't have a specific vision of what we'd like the space to be once it's completed; we'd like ideas from companies who could create the renovation plan/perform the actual renovation. I'm at the point where I need to craft an RFP, but I'm unsure how to do so when I don't have specific things we're looking for. Does anyone have an RFP they'd be willing to share as an example where things are very open-ended? Or suggestions on how to create an RFP that essentially gives companies free rein on what they'd like to include? Or ideas of what we should absolutely include? I appreciate any and all suggestions! Iosco-Arenac District Library is hiring a new full time Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper. JOB OBJECTIVES This position is located at the Iosco-Arenac District Library Headquarters office at 120 W. Westover St., East Tawas, MI. The employee in this position performs a variety of tasks related to the accounting of funds of the District Library. These tasks include but are not limited to keeping accurate records of receivables and payables, preparing and distributing payroll, reconciling bank accounts, maintaining an inventory of District Library property, depositing receipts and paying invoices. The Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper prepares reports, compiles District statistics, acts as the receptionist for District Headquarters, maintains an adequate supply of office, maintenance, and book processing supplies, and maintains the personnel and correspondence files for the District. The Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper orders new library materials and manages the Popular Subscription service for serials. The Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper also handles overdue notices for library branches, assists with Reference, and prepares minutes from the District Board meetings. The Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper assists with the preparation of graphics and reports, the processing of new materials, and, assists the District Director with composition of letters and various other projects. The Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper is the Webmaster for the District and performs various technical procedures associated with District computers and e-mail accounts. JOB CONDITIONS The employee in this position is considered a full-time employee working 40 hours per week.The Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper normally works from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. However, the District is not restricted in the exercise of its management prerogative, including the type and location of work assignments, schedule of work, work standards, and the methods, processes and procedures by which such work is to be performed. The Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper reports to the District Director. REQUIRED SKILLS -Associates degree in accounting or business administration -Ability to understand financial data, processes, and procedures -Experience in accounting and payroll -Experience with QuickBooks and Excel -Friendly and customer service oriented -Experience with other office software -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Proven office administrative assistant and bookkeeping experience - A high degree of attention to detail, accuracy, and organization -A valid driver’s license PREFERRED SKILLS -Experience working in a library -A basic understanding of non-profit business operations -Experience working with government offices PHYSICAL DEMANDS -Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds -Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time -Must be able to occasionally move around inside an office setting -Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment, such as a copy machine/printer BENEFITS -Health insurance -Dental -Vision -Paid time off -10 paid holidays per year -$18/hour, full time TO APPLY: Please submit a cover letter and resume with 3 references to Jenn Donner, District Director, Iosco-Arenac District Library, 120 W. Greetings Library Colleagues, The Kettering University Library is moving from a traditional library space to a fully-digital learning commons this summer and we are going to embark upon several new projects. We would very much appreciate your assistance as we explore the upcoming changes.
